About this Lead Business Solutions Developer role at Centene
Position Purpose: Strategizes, plans, conceptualizes, configures, and builds complex solutions that solve common challenges within the business, by using technological tools or programs. Conducts extensive research and gathers requirements to determine customer needs and lead and provide oversight of the development process from an operational perspective. Acts as a subject matter expert providing advice, support and guidance as needed and serves as a mentor to colleagues. Must have the ability to be self-sufficient.
- Manages the entire implementation process and drives definition of business needs by leading a project team, conduct requirements gathering; maintain communication with stakeholders during solution development.
- Performs complex research and advanced analysis with SQL and Power BI (DAX); find/create best solutions to stakeholder requests or problems; identify the best method or tool to develop solutions.
- Collaborates with and mentor peers on development and solution strategy; regular code reviews and pull requests; team partnership to identify efficient and effective scalable product solutions. Refers solutions for implementation.
- Writes code (SQL, Power BI, Snowflake) for software programs and applications, working with classes, using inheritance and virtualization, and following best programming practices.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, related field, or equivalent experience. 8+ years of experience in the field or in a related area.
Completion of a technical training program (e.g., LaunchCode, FDM, etc.) may be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
Healthcare experience a plus.
Applies basic understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies.
Technical Skills Desired:
- Advanced knowledge and experience with SQL
- Intermediate knowledge and experience with Power BI and DAX
- Intermediate knowledge of OLAP DBs (Snowflake, Teradata, etc)
- Intermediate knowledge of Relational Databases
