As a Senior Automation Engineer at ICAR modality with GE Healthcare, you will be required to design, develop, and implement robust automation solutions that enhance the efficiency, reliability, and scalability of our healthcare technology platforms. You will leverage your expertise across a broad range of technologies to drive continuous integration, continuous delivery, and operational excellence.

GE HealthCare’s Invasive Cardiology business integrates cardiac catheterization (Mac-Lab) and electrophysiology (Cardio Lab). Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated testing frameworks, and tools for software features and integrated systems. Enhance the automation platform to support reliable, seamless testing across connected applications and interfaces.
  • Apply principles of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and advanced computer programming techniques to create high-quality, maintainable automation scripts and tools.
  • Design effective database solutions for storing and retrieving automation test data and results.
  • Contribute to the architectural design and implementation of Cloud and microservices-based automation solutions.
  • Champion system reliability engineering principles to build resilient and self-healing automation systems.

Job Qualifications

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field, with 8+ years of experience in software test automation, automation engineering, or a closely related role. Demonstrated experience supporting complex, software-enabled products through development, verification, and release.


Desired Characteristics

  • Strong programming skills in C++; proficiency in C# is highly desirable. Experience designing, developing, and maintaining reliable automation frameworks, including BDD approaches.
  • Experience using requirements and test management tools such as Jama and ALM/Quality Center to manage requirements, test cases, test execution, and defects. Ability to maintain traceability from product requirements through verification results and document evidence in accordance with applicable quality processes.
  • Experience in testing medical devices, regulated products is highly desirable. Understands requirements-based testing, risk-based verification, traceability, defect management, and the importance of documented, reproducible test evidence. Familiarity with medical product quality systems and applicable regulatory expectations is an advantage.
  • Experience working in Agile or other software project management methodologies. Able to estimate and prioritize automation work, manage dependencies, communicate risks, and coordinate with software, systems, quality, product, and release teams to meet project commitments.
  • Demonstrated commitment to system reliability, cybersecurity awareness, and robust engineering practices. Experience developing regression, performance, stress, recovery, or reliability tests; investigating intermittent failures; and driving root-cause resolution and continuous improvement.
  • Experience using AI in day-day software development.
