Responsible for optimizing workforce utilization, labor standards, productivity, and operational workflows across branch operations. Partners with operations leaders to evaluate labor performance, establish work measurement standards, improve facility layouts, and implement data-driven solutions that enhance efficiency, consistency, and service. Applies continuous improvement methodologies to support operational excellence, drive sustainable results, and strengthen the associate experience.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

  • Analyzes labor utilization, productivity, throughput, and operational performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Conducts time and motion studies and establishes accurate, equitable, and repeatable labor standards.

  • Develops, implements, and maintains labor management systems, workforce tracking tools, and performance reporting processes.

  • Evaluates branch layouts, workflows, and operational processes and recommends solutions that improve efficiency, productivity, and service levels.

  • Applies Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies to eliminate waste and optimize operational performance.

  • Partners with operations leaders and associates to drive adoption of labor standards, best practices, and standard operating procedures.

  • Leads labor management and productivity improvement initiatives by coordinating cross-functional stakeholders and driving execution without direct supervisory authority.

  • Creates analyses, reports, and recommendations that support transparent decision-making and operational planning.

  • Ensures labor measurement methodologies, productivity standards, and reporting processes are consistent, reliable, and sustainable.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Nature and Scope

  • Demonstrates skill in data analysis techniques by resolving missing/incomplete information and inconsistencies/anomalies in more complex research/data.

  • Nature of work requires increasing independence; receives guidance only on unusual, complex problems or issues. Work review typically involves periodic review of output by a supervisor and/or direct customers of the process.

  • May provide general guidance/direction to or train junior level support or professional personnel.

Work Environment

  • Comfortable office environment with occasional exposure to operational sites (e.g., warehouse, distribution, and manufacturing facilities).

  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

  • Typically requires overnight travel 20% to 50% of the time.

Education and Experience

  • Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 2-5 years of experience in a related field OR MS/MA and generally 2-4 years of experience in a related field. Certification is required in some areas.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience analyzing operational data, labor performance metrics, and workforce utilization trends.

  • Experience conducting time studies, developing labor standards, and implementing process improvement initiatives.

  • Lean Practitioner, Six Sigma Green Belt, or Six Sigma Black Belt certification.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and workforce management, labor management, or productivity measurement systems.

  • Experience supporting facility layout optimization and workflow design initiatives.

$79,000.00-$127,300.00 Annual

Connecticut law requires the posting of the salary range for advertised jobs.  This range is determined based on market data and internal pay practices to establish a minimum and maximum value for a job. Individual base pay is determined based on a variety of elements including experience, skills, internal equity and other factors.
