Role Overview / Purpose and Scope 

The Label Applicator supports poultry production operations by preparing, loading, and verifying label rolls used for packaged products in the Roll Stock area. This role helps ensure the correct labels and product codes are used, supports production line flow, and contributes to safe, accurate, and efficient processing in the Acorn Plant. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Load label rolls into machines and verify product codes to ensure the appropriate labels are used for each product. 

• Work at various stations along the production line processing poultry food products as assigned. 

• Support production areas that may include live hang, evisceration, debone, cut up, marinating, stack off, Polybag, Retail, Warehouse, Roll Stock, and other assigned areas. 

• Adhere to all safety requirements, including proper use of Personal Protective Equipment. 

• Prevent and report unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and other safety concerns. 

• Follow Lockout-Tagout procedures and Process Safety Management related requirements. 

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. 

• Participate in Company and department safety programs. 

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications 

• Ability to learn and perform general labor duties in a poultry production environment. 

• Related production, manufacturing, food processing, or poultry processing experience preferred but not required. 
• Ability to work all assigned shifts, including overtime and some weekends, based on production needs. 

• Ability to perform the essential functions of the role with or without reasonable accommodation. 

New team members must be able to pass a drug and alcohol post-offer and prior to the start of their employment. Must be authorized to work in the United States. The Immigration Reform and Control Act requires that verification of employment eligibility be documented for all new employees by the end of their third day of work.    

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Travel 

Work is performed in a plant environment. Exposure may include wet and moist floors, including metal and plastic grating surfaces; temperatures ranging from 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with ambient and/or 100% humidity; product temperatures ranging from 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit; noise levels ranging from 50 db. to 110 db.; dust, feathers, and chemicals used in a poultry food processing facility. This role requires physical labor such as climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, reaching, standing for long periods of time, walking, and lifting and carrying boxes, tools, equipment, and materials. Personal Protective Equipment is required in designated areas.
