Position Summary and Qualifications:

The Junior Graphic Designer designs ads, print, multimedia collateral and other creative assets according to University brand standards. As part of this role, the Junior Graphic Designer collaborates with, and takes direction from, members of the creative studio to use visual and multimedia design to communicate the brand, drive enrollment and reach other communications goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Meet consistently with internal teams to manage timelines, assets, progress and deliverables.

  • Provide expertise and graphic design/technical support in the creative development of University ads, publications, promotional materials, web presence, social media, etc., while following all University brand standards.

  • Manage projects from inception through production

  • Work directly with printers, mail houses and other vendors, as needed, to ensure deliverables are completed and delivered on time.

  • Assist the creative team with the implementation and maintenance of studio technologies and platforms, including Bynder, Marq and Workfront.

  • Assist the studio manager, as needed, with administration and project management.

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with Marketing and Communications team to ensure compliance with brand standards and the appropriate use of logos, colors, fonts, trademarks, etc.

  • Participate in brainstorms and creative sessions that enhance creative campaigns and creative work.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: (Education/Training and Experience Required)

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design communications or equivalent education and work experience.

  • At least 1 year of experience in graphic design or design production roles.

  • Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite (e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign). Experience in Adobe After Effects and Figma a plus.

  • Strong ability to ensure that projects adhere to University brand standards in traditional and emerging media.

  • Experience in graphic design, prepress production, photo retouching, typography and layout. Photography experience a plus.

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and deadlines and maintain consistent quality of work

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as

  • Operational and project management experience and expertise in working with project management software/tools.

  • Excellent organizational skills that support the rest of the creative team.

Preferred

  • Prior experience working in the higher education industry.

  • Prior experience working in advertising.

  • Prior animation or web design experience.

Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours:

  • May require long periods spent in front of a computer.

  • Weekend and after hours work may be required.

Pay Transparancy:
