We are looking for an experiencedย Senior Java Technical Leadย with 8+ years of strong hands-on experience in Java development, microservices, cloud technologies, system architecture, and technical leadership. The ideal candidate will combine deep expertise in the Java ecosystem with strong architectural thinking and the ability to lead complex engineering initiatives.
This role requires someone who can own end-to-end solution design, make sound technology decisions, troubleshoot complex production challenges, and guide engineering teams toward scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deliver scalable enterprise applications usingย Core Java, Java 8/11/17+, and Spring Boot.
- Design and implement robustย microservices architecturesย with appropriate service boundaries and communication patterns.
- Develop secure and scalableย REST APIsย and event-driven solutions using Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging technologies.
- Design efficient data models and work withย SQL and NoSQL databasesย based on application requirements.
- Architect cloud-native solutions usingย AWS, Azure, or GCP, along with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Apply concurrency, multithreading, asynchronous processing, caching, messaging, and resiliency patterns to build high-performance systems.
- Analyse and optimise application performance, including JVM memory, garbage collection, CPU utilisation, and resource consumption.
- Identify and resolve memory leaks, performance bottlenecks, race conditions, deadlocks, and other complex production issues.
- Evaluate algorithms and data structures with a strong understanding ofย time and space complexity.
- Apply SOLID principles, clean-code practices, and appropriate design patterns such as Factory, Strategy, Singleton, and Observer.
- Lead technical discussions, architecture reviews, design sessions, and engineering decision-making.
- Conduct code reviews and establish development standards, engineering practices, and quality guidelines.
- Mentor and guide developers, helping teams improve technical capabilities and problem-solving skills.
- Collaborate with architects, product owners, business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to define effective technical solutions.
- Drive resolution of complex technical and production issues while balancing scalability, reliability, security, cost, and maintainability.
- Contribute to technology evaluations and make architecture decisions based on clear technical and business trade-offs.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- 8+ years of professional experienceย in Java development, backend engineering, software architecture, or technical leadership.
- Strong hands-on expertise inย Core Java, including Java 8/11/17+ features.
- Deep understanding ofย concurrency, multithreading, synchronization, Executors, CompletableFuture, locks, and concurrent collections.
- Strong knowledge of JVM internals, memory management, garbage collection, profiling, and performance optimisation.
- Extensive experience withย Spring Boot, Spring ecosystem, microservices, and REST APIs.
- Strong understanding of event-driven architecture and messaging technologies such asย Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, data modelling, query optimisation, and scalable data access.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, scalability, high availability, fault tolerance, security, and resiliency.
- Hands-on experience withย AWS, Azure, or GCP, along with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong knowledge of Java collections and internals, includingย HashMap, ConcurrentHashMap, HashSet, equals(), and hashCode().
- Strong understanding ofย SOLID principles, design patterns, clean code, and software engineering best practices.
- Ability to analyse complex systems, identify bottlenecks, and make effective architecture and technology decisions.
- Proven experience leading technical discussions, design reviews, code reviews, and engineering initiatives.
- Strong mentoring and team leadership capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong ownership mindset with the ability to independently drive solutions from requirements through design, implementation, troubleshooting, and delivery.
