Job description

Meet our Team

Hitachi Digital Services Japan, which is the HDS’s Japan country office, is strengthening its offshore engineering services leveraging development centers in Vietnam and India, building a global delivery structure that combines high quality and cost competitiveness.

What you’ll be doing

  • Work closely with Japanese customers to understand business requirements, existing systems, operational challenges, and future expectations.

  • Conduct system analysis, requirement clarification, and upstream consulting activities during the early project phase.

  • Analyze customer requirements and translate them into functional specifications, user stories, or solution proposals for offshore teams.

  • Participate in solution discussion and support high-level architecture and system design alignment.

  • Act as the communication bridge between Japanese stakeholders and offshore delivery teams in Vietnam/India.

  • Lead and coordinate offshore teams during development and delivery phases.

  • Support project planning, requirement tracking, change management, and delivery coordination.

  • Review deliverables and ensure alignment with customer expectations and Japanese quality standards.

  • Participate in workshops, system walkthroughs, demos, testing activities, and customer discussions.

  • Prepare and maintain bilingual documentation (Japanese/English).

  • Collaborate with technical teams on system architecture, development approach, integration, and implementation planning.

  • Work onsite in Sendai, Japan.

What you bring to the team

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related fields.

  • Japanese proficiency: Business level or above (JLPT N2 or higher).

  • Vietnamese proficiency: Business level or above.

  • English communication skills for collaboration with global/offshore teams.

  • 5+ years of experience in Business Analysis, System Analysis, Bridge SE, Technical Lead, or customer-facing IT roles.

  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and delivery models (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid).

  • Technical background with understanding of system architecture, application development, integration, and software engineering processes.

  • Ability to understand technical discussions and coordinate effectively with development teams.

  • Strong communication, analytical thinking, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience working with Japanese enterprise customers or onsite projects in Japan.

Preferred / Nice to Have

  • Experience in Energy, Utilities, Manufacturing, or other enterprise domains.

  • Hands-on experience or understanding of technologies such as Java, Python, C#, Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), or enterprise application architecture.

  • Experience leading offshore development teams.

  • Knowledge of AI / Generative AI related solutions or modernization projects is a plus.

  • Experience creating BRD/FSD, workflow diagrams, solution documents, or architecture-related documentation.

  • Familiarity with Japanese project management and quality control practices
