The role is responsible for understanding business needs, analyzing current processes, documenting requirements, and supporting the delivery of technology solutions that improve efficiency, usability, compliance, and business performance.

This role will focus on translating business needs into clear functional and non-functional requirements, supporting solution design, facilitating user acceptance testing, and helping ensure that IT solutions are adopted successfully by the business.

  • Engage with business stakeholders to understand problems, opportunities, objectives, and expected outcomes.
  • Elicit, analyze, document, and validate business, functional, and non-functional requirements.
  • Map current-state and future-state processes, identify gaps, and recommend practical process or system improvements.
  • Translate business requirements into user stories, use cases, process flows, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications.
  • Work closely with IT teams, vendors, project managers, and business users to ensure delivered solutions meet agreed business requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Requirements Gathering and Analysis: Facilitate interviews, workshops, and working sessions with business stakeholders to capture, analyze, prioritize, and validate business needs and requirements.
  • Business Process Analysis: Document current-state and future-state processes, identify pain points and improvement opportunities, and support the definition of more efficient ways of working.
  • Documentation: Prepare and maintain business requirements documents, functional specifications, user stories, use cases, process flows, data flows, acceptance criteria, decision logs, and traceability documentation.
  • Solution Design Support: Collaborate with architects, developers, application owners, vendors, and project teams to ensure proposed solutions are feasible, fit for purpose, and aligned with business requirements.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as a communication bridge between business users and technical teams, ensuring requirements, priorities, risks, and decisions are clearly understood by all parties.
  • Testing and User Acceptance Testing: Support test planning, define acceptance criteria, coordinate user acceptance testing, assist with defect triage, and confirm that delivered solutions meet business expectations before go-live.
  • Project Delivery Support: Support project managers and delivery teams by clarifying scope, tracking requirement changes, maintaining action logs, and helping resolve business or functional questions during delivery.
  • Project Management: There will be opportunities to lead small to medium-sized projects, taking ownership of delivery, coordination, and outcomes.
  • Change and Adoption Support: Assist with change impact assessments, training preparation, communication materials, and post-implementation support to promote successful adoption of new systems and processes.
  • Data and Reporting: Analyse data where required to support business decisions, validate requirements, define reporting needs, and measure whether delivered solutions achieve expected outcomes.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve business processes, system usability, application performance, service quality, and overall business value delivered through IT solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Experience: Typically 3–7 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, IT Analyst, Product Analyst, or related role supporting technology-enabled business change.
  • Business Analysis Skills: Strong experience with requirements elicitation, process mapping, gap analysis, functional specifications, user stories, use cases, acceptance criteria, and requirements traceability.
  • Technology Knowledge: Working knowledge of enterprise applications, system integrations, data flows, reporting, IT service management, and software development lifecycle practices.
  • Tools and Methods: Experience with tools and methods such as ServiceNow, Jira, Azure DevOps, Microsoft Office, Visio, Power BI, Agile/Scrum, Waterfall, BPMN, UML, or similar business analysis and delivery practices.
  • Automotive or Engineering Domain Knowledge: Experience supporting Engineering, Program Management, manufacturing, automotive, or product development processes is preferred but not required.
  • Certifications: Business analysis, Agile, ITIL, or project delivery certifications such as IIBA, CBAP, CCBA, ECBA, PMI-PBA, Scrum, or ITIL are beneficial.

Personal Attributes:

  • Analytical Thinking: Able to break down complex business problems, identify root causes, and recommend practical solutions.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate between business and technical audiences.
  • Collaboration: Works effectively with cross-functional teams, business users, IT teams, vendors, and project stakeholders.
  • Attention to Detail: Produces clear, accurate, and complete documentation that supports effective delivery and decision-making.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable working across changing priorities, multiple initiatives, and evolving business needs.
