This iOS Engineer II role is part of the Search Entry team which sits within our Technology division. This team develops and optimizes the search form and other critical search entry points for our websites and mobile apps. We leverage cutting-edge technologies like machine learning, natural language processing and AI to bring a personalized experience to our customers. In this role, your expertise and passion for innovation and implementing industry-leading solutions will improve the experience of millions of travelers each year.
In this role, you will:
- Build, enhance, test, and maintain iOS applications that deliver reliable, intuitive experiences for travelers and partners..
- Translate product requirements into well-structured mobile solutions using Swift, UIKit, SwiftUI, and established iOS development practices..
- Contribute to system design, low-level design, API integration, data modeling, and technical decisions within a service or product domain..
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, designers, and quality partners to deliver features from development through production operation..
- Apply debugging, testing, monitoring, and operational practices to improve application quality, performance, reliability, and maintainability..
- Safely integrate and operate AI/ML-enabled solutions that improve outcomes, while building familiarity with AI-driven systems, tools, workflows, and applying AI/ML concepts to real-world products..
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience..
- 2+ years of experience in mobile development.
- Experience owning and delivering capabilities within an iOS service, application, or product domain, with the ability to contribute across multiple technical areas as needed.
- Proficiency in Swift and core iOS development, including UIKit or SwiftUI, along with experience designing and consuming APIs, modeling data, and applying low-level design principles.
- Experience writing maintainable, testable code and contributing to debugging, code reviews, performance improvement, and production support..
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years iOS software development experience.
- Recent experience and proficiency with SwiftUI.
- Working knowledge of app architecture and design patterns.
- Self-starter who is consistently looking to innovate and find ways to enhance our customer’s experience, with ability to own features from end to end.
- Experience with agile development methodologies and working in an agile environment.
- Knowledge of modern iOS development practices, including animation, responsive layouts, and reactive design patterns.
Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
