About this Investment Advisor Representative - Be an Advisor, Not a Prospector role at United Placement Group
United Advisors America · Prosper, TX · Full-Time · In Person · $75,000–$100,000+ plus bonus
United Advisors America is a growing SEC-registered investment adviser headquartered in Prosper, Texas. We're looking for an experienced, personable Investment Advisor Representative to join our internal advisory team.
This isn't a traditional advisor role. You won't cold call, buy leads, build a prospecting pipeline, or develop your own book of business. Instead, you'll work with established clients alongside our external advisors through our Co-Advisor Program. They focus on bringing new clients and assets to the firm. You manage those clients' ongoing investment and service needs, so the external advisors can keep growing the business.
If you enjoy investments, working with clients, and solving financial problems, but would rather spend your time advising than searching for clients, this may be an excellent fit.
What you'll do
- Help establish new accounts, documentation, and asset transfers, and invest new client assets promptly
- Handle ongoing account needs, including deposits, withdrawals, and distributions
- Monitor and rebalance client portfolios
- Conduct annual client reviews and take part in other client meetings
- Answer day-to-day client questions and service needs
- Develop investment proposals and portfolio recommendations tailored to each client's objectives, risk tolerance, income needs, and circumstances
- Spot opportunities involving additional assets or financial needs, and coordinate them with the external advisor
- Join investment discussions and give input on the firm's model portfolios and overall approach
- Keep client notes, documentation, and compliance records current
- Provide responsive service to clients and external advisor partners
Required
- Series 65, or Series 7 and 66
- At least 1 year of investment advisory, securities, financial planning, or wealth-management experience
- Solid understanding of investments, portfolio construction, and asset allocation
- Strong communication and client relationship skills
- Excellent organization and attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively on a team
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, accounting, or a related field
- Texas Life & Health insurance license
- CFP®, ChFC®, CLU®, CFA®, or another relevant designation
- Experience with an RIA or wealth-management firm
- Experience with Charles Schwab or a similar institutional custodial platform
Designations are valued but not required. We encourage continued professional development and may support qualified team members pursuing industry credentials.
Compensation and benefits
- $75,000–$100,000+, depending on experience, licensing, and qualifications
- Bonus opportunities
- 401(k), health insurance, and life insurance
- Professional development opportunities
Work environment
This is primarily an in-office role at our Prosper, Texas headquarters. Most client interaction happens by phone, video, or in our office, so travel and off-site meetings are limited. You'll join an experienced, collaborative team at a growing firm, building a career around investments, advice, and client relationships, not prospecting.
Job type: Full-time, permanent · Location: Prosper, TX 75078, in person · Required license: Series 65, or Series 7 and 66 · Preferred: Texas Life & Health license
