Summary of the Role
The Inventory Analyst is responsible for safeguarding compliant, accurate, and timely inventory management across Terumo Thailand warehouses, customer consignment locations, spare-parts stocks, Terumo Thailand systems, 4PL vendor systems, and distributor records. The role optimizes corporate-wide inventory levels and health, reduces waste and obsolescence, and establishes clear policies, ownership, and sustainable processes that enable effective business decisions. The position also oversees 4PL and distributor inventory performance and maintains reliable product master data across Terumo Thailand and partner systems.
Key Responsibilities
1. Compliance, Governance and Audit Readiness
- Design and maintain compliant, robust, and effective inventory processes that meet business and regulatory requirements.
- Develop, document, and keep inventory policies and standard operating procedures current, with clear stakeholder roles and responsibilities.
- Deliver regular policy and procedure training and monitor stakeholder adherence and process effectiveness.
- Lead inventory integrity self-audits, report findings, recommend improvements, and support internal and external inventory audits.
- Ensure inventory deviations are investigated, and that root-cause correction and preventive actions are completed within agreed service levels.
2. Inventory Accuracy, Reconciliation and Control
- Reconcile physical inventory, Terumo Thailand system records, 4PL system records, and distributor records at the agreed frequency, resolving variances within the required turnaround time.
- Lead annual stock counts and cycle counts, including planning, execution, reconciliation, adjustment, and stakeholder sign-off.
- Ensure inventory data interfaces are completed on time, and daily variances are identified and resolved.
- Develop and maintain reports and tools that provide stakeholders with accurate, timely, and accessible inventory status information.
3. Inventory Health and Business Outcomes
- Monitor corporate-wide inventory health and provide clear analysis, risk visibility, and actionable improvement recommendations.
- Lead inventory health improvement plan development and execution with Commercial, Planning, Customer Service, Supply Chain Operations, Service Engineering, Quality and Regulatory Affairs, Finance, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Optimize inventory levels across warehouses, customer consignment locations, spare-parts stocks, and other inventory points while reducing excess, obsolescence, and waste.
4. 4PL and Distributor Inventory Performance
- Manage inventory-related performance of 4PL providers and distributors against agreed requirements and service levels.
- Monitor partner process effectiveness and compliance, resolve performance gaps, and coordinate sustainable preventive actions.
5. Product Master Data and System Integrity
- Develop, document, and maintain a robust product master data creation and maintenance process.
- Serve as the central coordination point for product master data setup and maintenance with Commercial teams, global and regional stakeholders, 4PL providers, and distributors.
- Ensure product and inventory master data remain complete, accurate, clean, and timely across Terumo Thailand and partner systems.
6. Process Improvement and Other Responsibilities
- Identify opportunities to improve inventory workflows and contribute to system and process enhancements that strengthen control, efficiency, and sustainability.
- Perform other responsibilities assigned by the supervisor.
Functional / Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of inventory management, inventory optimization, stock aging analysis, inventory health management, and inventory control principles.
- Proven experience in inventory reconciliation, inventory accuracy management, cycle counting, stock taking, and inventory variance resolution across ERP systems, warehouses, consignment locations, and 4PL logistics providers.
- Strong understanding of inventory governance, SOP development, internal controls, compliance requirements, and audit processes, preferably within a regulated industry.
- Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA (MM, SD, Inventory Management) or equivalent ERP systems, including inventory transactions, reporting, and data validation
- Strong knowledge of product master data governance, data maintenance, and data quality management across internal and external systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including inventory reporting, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive action (CAPA), and inventory improvement planning
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and other data analytics tools, with excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in inventory management, inventory control, supply chain operations, warehouse operations, inventory audit, or related functions
- Experience working with ERP systems (preferably SAP S/4HANA) and inventory-related master data management.
- Preferred experience in a regulated industry, such as medical devices, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, FMCG, or other industries having consignment inventory and requiring strong inventory traceability and compliance controls.
- Professional certification or training in Supply Chain, Inventory Management, Internal Audit, Quality Management, or Continuous Improvement (e.g., CSCP, CPIM, Lean Six Sigma, Internal Auditor) is an advantage
- Candidates with backgrounds in Inventory Audit, Internal Audit, Accounting, Cost Accounting, or Financial Controls are highly desirable due to the role's strong focus on inventory accuracy, reconciliation, compliance, and governance.
