Team Overview

The Epitaxy Manufacturing and Engineering teams are responsible for optimizing semiconductor growth processes. This team bridges the gap between material science theory and practical factory automation by leveraging metrology data to drive process stability and control.

Responsibilities

  • Process Automation & Development: Assist in developing automated recipe adjustment workflows. This involves using metrology outputs (PL and XRD) to create data-driven logic for automatic process corrections.
  • Metrology & Characterization: Perform engineering measurements and analyses, including defect analysis, Photoluminescence (PL), and X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), to evaluate epitaxial layer quality.
  • Documentation & Standard Work: Collaborate with senior engineers to draft and update MOCVD standard operating procedures (SOPs) for process control and systematic troubleshooting.
  • Data Analysis: Utilize statistical methods to correlate metrology data with reactor performance, identifying trends that impact yield and wafer uniformity.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in Master’s or PhD degree program in semiconductor, electrical, optical, physical or a related major.
  • Foundational knowledge of concepts, tools, or methods relevant to the internship.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply classroom learning through coursework, projects, laboratory work, research, or other relevant experience.
  • Available for the full internship period.

Desired Qualifications

  • Solid understanding of textbook physics and engineering fundamentals
  • Familiarity with semiconductor epitaxy and/or characterization techniques is a plus (MBE, MOCVD, XRD, PL, or SEM).
  • Strong technical writing skills.
