Intern – Project Management
The Big Picture
The Opportunity
As a Project Management Intern, you will support Project Managers and Engineering Managers in driving the execution of large-scale initiatives that power Syscoʼs digital commerce experiences. You will play a key role in maintaining healthy delivery processes, ensuring Jira and reporting hygiene, supporting Scrum ceremonies, and contributing to clear, accurate, and well-structured documentation in Confluence. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, enjoys working with data and tools, and is eager to gain hands-on exposure to Agile delivery, project governance, and cross functional coordination within a global engineering organization.
Responsibilities:
Supporting Scrum ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives
Assisting in tracking sprint commitments and maintaining the commitment ratio health
Monitoring and reporting on key Agile metrics such as velocity and cycle time
Ensuring Jira boards are accurate, up to date, and aligned with agreed workflows
Acting as a process facilitator and tooling coordinator for Jira and related systems
Taking meeting minutes during key discussions and proactively following up on action items
Maintaining reporting dashboards and delivery trackers
Supporting risk, dependency, and action item tracking
Assisting in preparing stakeholder updates and status reports
Maintaining structured and up-to-date documentation in Confluence
Identifying opportunities to improve delivery processes and team efficiency
Requirements:
Currently pursuing a degree or diploma in Project Management, Engineering, IT, Information Systems, Business, or a related field
A basic understanding of Agile and Scrum principles (knowledge of frameworks promoted by Scrum Alliance is a plus)
Familiarity with Jira and Confluence
A good working knowledge of Excel, and ability to work systematically with multiple tools and data sources (e.g., working with spreadsheets, validating statuses, cross-checking data across systems)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
High attention to detail and accountability
Strong analytical and organizational skills
The ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Proactive and curious mindset: willing to ask questions, propose improvements, and own follow-ups
