Role overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Intern (3 to 6 months) to join our project team. This internship offers hands-on experience in sourcing, purchasing and supplier management for engineering projects. You’ll work closely with order management and project teams to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and services.
What you’ll be doing:
- Assisting in sourcing and evaluating suppliers to meet project requirements and budget constraints
- Drafting vendor comparison tables in accordance with company procurement policies
- Supporting the preparation and issuance of purchase orders and contracts in SAP HANA
- Maintaining records and registers of all issued purchase orders, categorising them by WBS (Work Breakdown Structure) elements and filing them in the appropriate server folders
- Collaborating with project teams to understand material specifications and project timelines
- Conducting market research to identify potential suppliers and track industry trends
- Participating in supplier negotiations to secure favourable terms and conditions
- Maintaining accurate records of procurement activities and inventory levels
- Monitoring supplier performance and addressing delivery or quality-related issues
- Supporting compliance with company procurement policies and standards
- Reviewing external vendor invoices and following up on supporting documentation to ensure audit compliance
- Supporting the processing of goods receipts for all vendors
- Supporting procurement processes, including drafting NDAs, managing KYP processes and registering new vendors
- Supporting the preparation of commercial invoices, packing lists, and delivery notes
Who we’re looking for:
- Students pursuing a Higher Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Familiarity with ERP/ SAP HANA 4 systems and procurement software
- Basic understanding of contract management and negotiation principles
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory compliance
