About this Instructor, Softball role at Major League Baseball
Major League Baseball is looking for a Softball Instructor in the MLB Youth Academy to assist in all activities relating to softball instruction.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning and implementation of all softball instruction including workouts, camps, clinics, gameplay, etc
- Assist the Coordinator, Softball Instruction in selecting players for select teams, showcases, camps, etc
- Help to coordinate all softball activities and organize schedules for softball instruction
- Help to coordinate, facilitate and organize all softball workouts, camps and clinics
- Coach Academy softball teams in workouts and gameplay as necessary
- Submit reports to the Coordinator, Softball Instruction as deemed necessary
- Perform assigned tasks for special events and programs as directed by Softball Coordinator or Academy Director
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experience as a player, coach or instructor
- Organized, efficient and consistent positive communication skills
- Team player ready to take direction
- Solid organizational and scheduling skills
- Possess the ability to organize softball workouts and gameplay
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel programs, and computer scheduling programs
- Able to instruct all facets of softball
- Ability to travel (25% local overnight travel expected around All-Star and Spring Break events)
Pay Range: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
