Job Description

Montgomery College is seeking an outstanding full-time Radiologic Technology faculty member to fill a position beginning January 2027. We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher who exhibits a high degree of professionalism, a strong commitment to our students, and the ability to motivate and educate in an engaging manner. The Radiologic Technology program is fully accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). This position is part of a collective bargaining unit. 

The successful candidate will appreciate teaching in a multi-cultural environment and will welcome the opportunity to work with students with diverse learning abilities. Faculty duties include classroom, laboratory and clinical instruction, assessment, curriculum development, advising, professional inquiry, committee work, and utilizing instructional technology. Outstanding candidates with a passion for teaching are particularly encouraged to apply to join the dedicated faculty of the Montgomery College Allied Health Sciences Department. 

Teaching assignments may include various delivery modes, such as face-to-face, on-line, hybrid, and/or blended formats during days, evenings, and weekends. Montgomery College has multiple campuses, and faculty may be assigned to teach in-person at any of these campuses and teach online.  

 

Duties include but are not limited to: 

  • Teach a variety of didactic, laboratory, and clinical courses within the Radiologic Technology program.  

  • Teach 30 semester hours per academic year. Opportunities exist to teach summer classes. 

  • Participate in accreditation activities and abide by accreditation guidelines and standards. 

  • Participate in discipline-related activities such as program evaluation, curriculum design, and outcomes assessment and evaluation. 

  • Provide support to the program and clinical coordinator as needed. 

  • Travel within the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area to visit clinical sites affiliated with the program. 

  • Faculty members are expected to serve on departmental, campus, and/or college committees, hold office hours, advise students, participate in course and program assessment, and maintain an active personal program of professional development and continuous learning. 

 

 

Required Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree 

  • Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in good standing.  

  • Current Maryland Radiographer State License, in good standing, or eligibility to obtain a Maryland Radiographer License.  

  • Two (2) years clinical experience in radiology.  

  • Demonstrated excellence in classroom instruction using a variety of teaching methods.  

  • Experience integrating technology into course delivery including the use of a learning management system (LMS). 

  • Experience utilizing high-impact teaching pedagogies to foster student engagement and active-learning 

  • Demonstrated commitment to inclusive and equitable teaching practices and support of a diverse student population.  

  • Demonstrated effective collaboration with colleagues. 

  • Eligible applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States and not require employer visa sponsorship 

 

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Master’s degree or Doctoral degree  

  • Experience teaching at the post-secondary level in radiologic technology in a JRCERT-certified program. 

  • Additional certifications (i.e.: CT, MRI, Radiation Therapy, Nuclear Medicine, Mammography) or other current additional imaging certifications. 

  • Evidence of commitment to professional development and scholarly activities. 

  • Experience supporting students to overcome barriers to academic success. 

 

Hiring Range: $64,510 - $98,220

Submit an unofficial copy of your transcripts from the highest degree earned. 

Verification of ARRT certification.  

Verification of Maryland Radiographer State, or other state, license.

If you are already retired from the Maryland State Retirement System, you may not enroll in a Maryland State Retirement System plan at Montgomery College and may have earnings restrictions, per state law.
