The Industrial Maintenance Technician will be located onsite in Minden, LA and reports to Maintenance Supervisor. This role is needed for the Department of Defense and OSHA regulated energetic materials and explosives manufacturing operation supporting defense and aerospace customers and is responsible for performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical, electrical, and control systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations.

In this role, the essential functions are:

  • Perform hands-on maintenance, repair, and basic troubleshooting of mechanical systems including rotating equipment, gearboxes, pumps, and production machinery under the direction of senior technicians
  • Assist with diagnosing and repairing electrical systems up to 480V, including motors, starters, VFDs, and field wiring, developing proficiency in safe and reliable equipment operation
  • Support instrumentation and controls maintenance, including calibration assistance, sensor checks, field wiring, and basic PLC fault identification with guidance from senior technicians or controls resources
  • Execute preventive and predictive maintenance activities generated from our maintenance system, ensuring equipment reliability and minimizing unplanned downtime
  • Follow all safety procedures including lock-out/tag-out, material-handling protocols, and PPE requirements, and collaborate with production and engineering teams to address maintenance issues in a high-hazard environment.

  • High school diploma or equivalent with 3+ years of hands-on experience in industrial maintenance
  • Foundational mechanical skills, including experience with rotating equipment, pumps, conveyors, and production machinery
  • Working knowledge of electrical systems up to 480V, including motors and VFDs; ability to run conduit and field wiring
  • Exposure to instrumentation maintenance, including calibration, sensor installation, and field wiring of transmitters or switches, with basic familiarity with PLCs and control systems
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and technical manuals, and maintain accurate maintenance records.

 

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

  • Completion of a technical or vocational program in industrial maintenance, electrical technology, or instrumentation
  • Experience in a high hazard manufacturing environments (e.g., chemical or refining) with controls experience

Physical and/or Government Mandated Requirements:

  • Ability to lift, move or carry items or equipment up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl for extended periods in an outdoor industrial environment
  • Ability to work in a high-hazard explosive manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, cold, noise, dust, and explosives
  • Ability to wear required PPE, including flame-resistant clothing and other safety equipment, and comply with site-specific requirements such as end-of-day showering
  • Ability to obtain and maintain State and Federal explosives licenses
  • Candidates must meet all eligibility requirements to obtain and maintain applicable state and federal explosives licenses, including minimum age requirements (21 and over), a drug-free workplace in compliance with the Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988 (41 U.S.C. §§ 8101–8106), Executive Order 12564 (Drug-Free Federal Workplace), applicable Department of Defense directives including DoD Instruction 1010.09 and DFARS 252.226-7003 and successful completion of any legally required background investigations.
  • To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

 

The good faith base hourly range for this role is $24.00 - $34.00 at the time of this posting. Where you fall within the range depends on your experience, skills, and location. This range reflects base salary only and does not include benefits or bonus/incentive. This range may be adjusted in the future.
