India Tax Accountant:

Adyen is looking for a Tax Accountant - India to join Group Finance in Amsterdam. As a Tax Accountant, you will be primarily focussed on ensuring accurate GL accounting of indirect taxes. You will interact and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders in order to support our continued business growth in a scalable, controlled and compliant way. The ideal candidate takes ownership and has a drive to understand these and is able to tie this back to where we’re heading as a Group globally. 

Being part of the centralized Finance Operations team in Amsterdam means you’ll be working in the (financial) engine room of a registered and listed financial institution; being part of a relatively small team means you’ll be (in)directly involved in a lot of very interesting topics that reach beyond the tax borders. 

What you’ll do

• Ensuring adherence to accounting and taxation standards and policies;
• Collaborating with Financial Controlling, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Tax teams, maintaining and owning the general tax ledgers, completion of the monthly accruals,completeness of data for tax returns filing,  tax journals postings and performing reconciliations with the books of accounts;
• Create validation logic within our systems to identify and solve errors before they reach the General Ledger (GL), reducing the need for manual checks.
• Manage the Tooling: work within our tax reporting tools to ensure data flows correctly from our ERP (GL data) and maintains high quality.
• Assist in the preparation and review of and indirect tax filings, ensuring completeness accuracy and timely submission;
• Provide hands-on support for tax provisioning;
• Providing support during internal and external audits; liaising with tax team; 
• Assisting in process improvement and systems enhancement to drive initiatives that help scale the organization.
• Proactively monitor and resolve supplier and merchant (e-)invoicing requirements by implementing a streamlined, transformative process

Who you are

• Possess at least 3 years of hands-on experience in general ledger and tax accounting, specifically centered on India tax accounting matters; 
• Varying experience in tax accounting;
• Experience with systems such as Workday is a plus;
• You have experience working with multiple stakeholders/teams;
• You are detail-oriented, with an analytical and automation mindset 
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously; ability to prioritise
• Proactive in projects you take on, able to work independently but never afraid to ask for help;
• You gain energy from transforming processes and making impact;
• You possess strong communication skills, enabling you to liaise confidently with internal and external stakeholders.
