About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an Improver to join our Heathrow team. This role is ideal for someone looking to kick-start their career in the lifts and escalators industry with a global leader. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers, gaining hands-on experience, technical knowledge, and industry qualifications while supporting the maintenance and repair of equipment at one of the UK’s busiest and most dynamic locations.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Supporting qualified engineers with the maintenance, servicing, and repair of lifts and escalators across Heathrow
• Assisting with fault finding and troubleshooting to ensure equipment remains safe and reliable
• Carrying out routine inspections and preventative maintenance under supervision
• Working in line with KONE safety standards and Heathrow airport procedures
• Building strong relationships with customers and on-site stakeholders
• Developing your skills through structured training and on-the-job coaching
• Accurately recording work using KONE digital tools and systems

What We’re Looking For

• A strong interest in engineering and a desire to build a career in the lift & escalator industry
• Part-qualified (e.g., working towards NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) – preferred
• Some mechanical/electrical experience or relevant qualification – advantageous
• A proactive, hands-on approach with willingness to learn
• Good communication skills and a customer-focused mindset
• Ability to work effectively in a team within a fast-paced airport environment
• Full UK driving licence – preferred
• Flexibility to work the 4 on 4 off, 6am–6pm shift pattern and meet airport security requirements
