About this Human Resources Generalist role at Solar Energy Solutions
Description
Position: Human Resources Generalist Company: Solar Energy Solutions
Solar Energy Solutions is one of the fastest-growing renewable energy companies in the region — and our people are the reason why. We're looking for a Human Resources Generalist who wants real ownership over the employee experience at a company building well-paid, stable careers in clean energy. You'll partner directly with leadership on hiring, culture, and compliance as we scale across Virginia and the surrounding states, with the chance to shape how HR is done here, not just execute a playbook someone else wrote.
Key Responsibilities:
● Own full-cycle recruitment — sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding — for a growing team across field and office roles
● Maintain accurate, compliant employee records and ensure practices align with labor law and internal policy
● Support performance management, including appraisals and employee development programs
● Serve as a trusted point of contact for employees and managers on HR policy and employee relations
● Help build and protect a positive, inclusive workplace culture as the company scales
● Track employment legislation and HR best practices, and recommend changes to keep SES ahead of compliance requirements
Required Qualifications and Competencies:
● Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline
● 3+ years of progressive HR experience; construction, skilled trades, or renewable energy background a plus
● Solid working knowledge of employment law, HR policy, and procedure
● Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with sound judgment handling confidential information
● Excellent organization and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment
● A proactive, solutions-first mindset — comfortable working independently and as part of a team
● Genuine interest in the mission: building the clean energy workforce of the Southeast
This isn't a maintenance role at a company standing still. SES is expanding fast, which means the HR function is still being built — you'll have real input into how we recruit, onboard, and grow a workforce that's doing meaningful, tangible work. If you want to see the direct impact of your work on real people building real careers, this is that kind of seat.
● Competitive salary
● ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan)
● Health (subsidized), dental, and vision insurance
● 401(k)
● Paid vacation
● Paid holidays
