Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the terminal's Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Management System.
  • Conduct workplace inspections, safety audits, and compliance assessments, recommending and monitoring corrective actions.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging HSE regulations, industry standards, and best practices to strengthen operational safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions using root cause analysis and corrective action tracking.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, contractors, regulatory agencies, and external partners to promote a strong safety culture.
  • Maintain accurate HSE records, reports, and documentation while supporting compliance requirements.
  • Deliver HSE awareness and training initiatives for employees and third parties while supporting safe terminal operations on a 12-hour rotational shift schedule.

What We Are Looking For

  • Continuous improvement mindset: we are looking for someone who brings a thoughtful improvement mindset, curious about how work gets done and motivated to make meaningful, sustainable improvements over time.
  • A university degree, HND or its equivalent in Environmental Management, Engineering or any Health and Safety related fields.
  • NEBOSH and/or IOSH Certification is highly desirable. Active membership of ISPON is preferred.
  • Minimum three years of Health, Safety, and Environment experience, preferably within port operations, logistics, industrial, manufacturing, or heavy equipment environments.
  • Knowledge and practical experience in dangerous goods handling, emergency response, incident investigations, and risk assessments.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to operate within a dynamic port terminal environment.
  • Strong documentation, reporting, and Microsoft Office skills with a disciplined approach to regulatory compliance and operational safety.
