Damen Services is a growing international service organization within Damen Shipyards Group. We support customers all over the world, across the Americas, Africa, Europe, the Middle East and Australia. With more than 360 employees worldwide, we deliver technical services and support to our customers every day.
Your team
You will join a committed HR team consisting of an HR Business Partner, HR Manager, and International Payroll Officer. Together, you support Damen Services across the full breadth of HR. You will also work closely with HR Support, the shared service center and various centers of expertise within the group. This will give you broad exposure to how HR operates within a large international organization.
Your role
As a (Junior) HR Advisor, you will combine hands-on HR support with advisory work for managers. In the beginning, you will work closely with an experienced colleague. As you grow in the role, you will gradually take on more responsibility and develop into a trusted partner for management.
What will you do?
- Monitor key HR processes and reporting, ensuring timely follow-up by managers on topics such as performance reviews, engagement, absenteeism, and mandatory training.
- Support periodic HR reporting and HR-wide communication.
- Support managers and employees with day-to-day HR questions, including onboarding, offboarding, absenteeism, and development.
- Prepare HR advisory meetings and employee conversations and, where appropriate, conduct them independently.
- Contribute to international HR projects and help implement new ways of working.
- Contribute to projects focused on talent development and organizational development.
- Work with colleagues in different countries and gain exposure to different cultures and ways of working.
- Identify opportunities to make HR processes smarter, clearer, and more effective.
- Gradually join Area Management Teams and Service Line MTs to learn how HR contributes to business direction and decision-making.
Who are we looking for?
- You have completed a bachelor’s or master’s degree in HRM, Business Administration, or a related field.
- You have around two to three years of HR experience, for example as an HR Assistant, HR Officer, or HR Advisor. Relevant internship experience also counts.
- You are curious, proactive, and not afraid to ask questions.
- You communicate easily with people at different levels of the organization and are a good listener.
- You enjoy working in an international, technical environment.
- You have a good command of both Dutch and English.

- A varied part-time role for 24 hours a week, based in Gorinchem.

- The salary range for this role is approximately €4,500 to €5,000 gross per month, based on full-time employment and excluding holiday allowance. The exact classification will depend on your knowledge and experience. This position falls under the Collective Labour Agreement Metalektro.
- You will also receive 27 vacation days and 13 ADV days per year based on full-time employment, holiday allowance, travel allowance (€0.25 per km), a good pension scheme, flexibility to work partly from home and plenty of opportunities for training and growth.
