Position Summary

Dublin Post Acute is seeking a dependable and hardworking Housekeeper / Laundry Aide to join our Environmental Services team. This position is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our residents, staff, and visitors while also assisting with the facility’s laundry needs.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, able to work independently, and committed to providing a clean and welcoming environment for our residents.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize resident rooms, common areas, offices, bathrooms, and other facility areas.
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and disinfect surfaces as needed.
  • Collect and properly dispose of trash and waste.
  • Clean and maintain floors and other surfaces according to facility standards.
  • Assist with cleaning resident rooms following room changes, discharges, and admissions.
  • Collect, sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute facility laundry and resident clothing.
  • Properly label and organize resident clothing and personal items.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry area.
  • Operate washers, dryers, and other laundry equipment safely.
  • Follow infection-control and sanitation procedures.
  • Properly use cleaning chemicals and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Report maintenance, safety, or environmental concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Maintain confidentiality and respect residents' privacy and personal belongings.
  • Follow all facility policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Previous housekeeping, laundry, healthcare, or long-term care experience preferred.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality are required.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with residents, families, and staff.
  • Must be able to maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and lift as required.
  • Ability to safely lift and carry supplies and laundry.
  • Ability to perform repetitive cleaning and laundry tasks.
  • Ability to work around cleaning chemicals while following proper safety procedures.
