About the role:

As our cruise fleet continues to grow, Wilhelmsen Ship Management Norway is strengthening its shoreside team and seeking a Hotel Superintendent to oversee and elevate the interior quality and appearance across our managed vessels. This role demands a refined design eye, strong asset-management capabilities, and a commitment to maintaining the high standards our client is known for.

You will report to the Hotel Technical Manager (Cruise Fleet) and work closely with the Hotel Technical Team, Vessel Managers and the Drydock Team.

With over 11,000 seafarers and 500+ shore-based employees worldwide, Wilhelmsen Ship Management is one of the world’s largest third-party ship managers, handling a diverse portfolio of nearly 250 vessels.


About the department:

The position will be located at Lysaker close to Oslo, Norway - which provide one of the best work/life balance, in an environment of what large Cities can offer, and a unique and direct access to white winter ski and sea!

Required experience and skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in naval architecture, maritime engineering, or cruise ship interior design (or equivalent).

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in cruise ship accommodation construction, operations, or a related field. Luxury hotel facility management experience is also relevant.

  • Previous shore-based experience is an advantage.

  • Previous budget responsibility is an advantage.

  • Strong organizational, delegation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Fluent English, both written and spoken

What you will be doing:
In alignment with our client’s business objectives and fleet-wide growth strategy, you will:

  • Define and implement fleet standards for hotel interior maintenance and inspection routines, sharing best practices across vessels.

  • Develop and execute the renewal strategy for equipment and furniture.

  • Provide expert guidance for planned and unplanned interior repairs and maintenance—ensuring timely solutions that minimize guest impact.

  • Work with our global procurement team to select suppliers, establish service contracts, and monitor costs, quality, and performance, including management of frame agreements.

  • Lead in-service and drydock hotel refurbishment projects, including scope and budget development, specification preparation, and project execution—ensuring compliance with class and flag requirements.
