Make a Difference Every Day

Join our team and play an essential role in creating a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for patients, families, and caregivers. As a Hospital Support Tech, you will directly contribute to the patient experience by ensuring care units are well-stocked, organized, and prepared to support exceptional patient care. What You'll Do

Support Patient Care Operations

  • Maintain patient care areas by ensuring supplies and equipment are readily available, clean, and properly stored.

  • Monitor inventory levels, restock supplies as needed, and check product expiration dates to ensure patient safety and regulatory compliance.

  • Clean and prepare equipment for patient use.

Assist Patients and Families

  • Safely transport patients, family members, and visitors throughout the hospital using appropriate transport methods and infection prevention protocols.

  • Provide compassionate assistance and excellent customer service during patient interactions.

  • Respond appropriately in emergency situations by seeking immediate clinical support when needed.

Promote a Safe and Organized Environment

  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe patient care environment.

  • Participate in Continual Service Readiness (CSR) activities to support compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.

  • Identify and report equipment issues, safety concerns, or maintenance needs promptly.

Collaborate with the Healthcare Team

  • Communicate effectively with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to support patient care needs.

  • Utilize email, phones, pagers, Voalte, and other communication tools to stay connected and informed.

  • Assist with additional duties such as transporting laboratory specimens and supporting departmental operations as needed.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, HSED, or equivalent experience.

  • Basic computer and technology skills.

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and follow established policies and procedures.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a commitment to providing exceptional service to patients and families.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous healthcare experience or knowledge of healthcare environments.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or National Safety Council.

West 9 – Surgical-Medical Shorter Stay Unit

West 9 is a 24-bed acute care unit. This unit cares for both medical and surgical patient populations. All Acute Care burn patients requiring dressing changes, surgical interventions, and management are cared for here. Procedural Short Stay (PSS) and Observation patients are the other focus for this department. Typical diagnoses for the Pediatric Hospital Medicine patients are: asthma, bronchiolitis, dehydration/viral gastroenteritis, skin & soft tissue infection/cellulitis, unintentional toxic ingestion, and croup. Nurses may also care for medical patients with varying diagnoses who are expected to have a shorter hospital stay
