We are seeking Home Care Workers looking for a Permanent Part-Time position, with regular hours of approximately 20-30 hours per week. This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking consistent work while maintaining flexibility.

Locations: Opportunities available across Melbourne Metro and the Mornington Peninsula, including the Northern, Eastern, South Eastern, Western, Bayside and Inner Melbourne regions.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Home Care Workers provide services to our customers who live in their own homes. You will provide high quality care and support services in accordance with the individual needs and wishes of each older person and, in doing so, you will enable them to remain living at home independently. 

As a Home Care Worker, you will provide excellent customer service. You will follow the tasks as directed per the Support Plan, such as personal care, general housekeeping and assistance. The role is to deliver services with compassion, integrity and dignity. 

We are looking for proactive, energetic, empathetic individuals to undertake the following tasks; 

  • You will be providing support to clients with domestic assistance duties such as cleaning, laundry and meal preparation. 

  • You will assist clients with personal care support including, showering, toileting and feeding assistance. 

  • You will provide assistance to your clients with transportation, e.g. to appointments, shopping and leisure outings. 

  • You will build and maintain strong and effective relationships with clients and their families. 

  • You will adhere to health and safety guidelines and policies to keep yourself and our clients safe. 

 

ABOUT YOU  

We currently have positions available for individuals, who are committed to providing excellence in care and the best possible quality of life to our residents.   

Essential Requirements 

  • Certificate III in Aged, Community Care or equivalent 

  • Current driver license 

  • Reliable vehicle (including valid registration with minimal 3rd Party Insurance) 

  • Home Care experience  

  • Current First Aid Certificate  

 

You will have 

  • An appreciation of and the ability and willingness to promote, support and model the Christian values and ethos of The Salvation Army 

  • Motivation to work with older people living in the community and an understanding of their needs and of consumer directed care 

  • Strong customer service focus and good time management skills 

  • Ability to work independently and safely in a client’s home 

  • Good communication skills, including fluency in written and spoken English 

  • Computer literacy and experience with documentation
