In this role, you will shape the future of healthcare environments by translating patient, staff and operational needs into integrated spatial solutions. We are looking for an experienced healthcare architect and design consultant who can work confidently across physical healthcare design and contribute to complex international projects.

As a experienced Healthcare Architect and Design Consultant, you will advise clients and collaborate with healthcare experts and multidisciplinary design teams. You will translate complex clinical, operational and user needs into clear design strategies, spatial concepts and floor plans that improve experience, workflows and wellbeing.

Within Philips Healthcare Consultancy Services, we combine human insights, clinical expertise and design thinking to improve the care journey and experience for patients, families and healthcare professionals across healthcare environments.

Your role:

• Developing differentiated design strategies and solutions across project scales—from treatment rooms and departments to whole hospitals, for both renovations and new builds.
• Developing design concepts and floor plans, and producing clear design documentation, presentation drawings, 3D models, experience scenarios and visual narratives.
• Understanding clinical workflows, architectural requirements, cultural context and applicable standards, and translating them into relevant design decisions.
• Collaborating across disciplines throughout concept and design development to ensure that solutions integrate functional, clinical, technical and client requirements.
• Communicating complex observations, recommendations and design ideas clearly, concisely to clients, stakeholders and project teams.

You're the right fit if you have:

• A Bachelor or (preferably) Master’s degree in Architecture, Spatial Design or a related field.
• Ability to work independently as a trusted consultant, structure complex information, identify key issues quickly and build clear, evidence-based recommendations. A proactive, agile mindset, strong learning ability and willingness to travel internationally two to three times per year, occasionally for approximately one week, are essential.
• At least 10 years of relevant professional experience in architecture or spatial design, including experience with healthcare projects in a consultancy or healthcare-specialized architectural practice.
• Knowledge of construction, healthcare planning and clinical workflows, with the ability to assess their impact on spatial design and project decisions.
• Proven experience in healthcare design, supported by an understanding of patients, staff and operational needs.
• Strong visualization and communication skills, with proficiency in relevant industry-standard tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite and SketchUp. Practical experience using AI-enabled tools for research, ideation, visualization and efficient design development is expected.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence internal and external stakeholders.
• Full professional proficiency in written and spoken English; proficiency in additional languages is an advantage.

Compensation & benefits

Doing meaningful work should come with fair, transparent rewards. The base salary range for this role is EUR 61,200 - EUR 101,900. We determine pay within the range using objective factors, like the skills the role requires, your relevant experience and the responsibility you'll have in this role, alongside internal equity and local market considerations. 

This role is eligible for 3% short term incentive with your rewards linked to both individual performance and company results. We’ll share the full approach with you during the interview process, so you can make a clear, informed decision. We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week.
