About this Health Practice Lead, Americas role at Dentsu
Job Description:
The Health Practice Lead will be responsible for building and scaling dentsu’s health and wellness practice by expanding integrated marketing and media capabilities, strengthening cross-agency collaboration, and accelerating growth with existing and prospective clients across the health, wellness, pharmaceutical, consumer health, life sciences, and wellbeing sectors. The role will anchor initially in the Creative Practice with Aetna being a founding client to help build the team. This leader will connect dentsu’s capabilities in strategy, creative, media, CXM, data, technology, content, and production to create modern, compliant, audience-first solutions that drive measurable business impact for clients.
The role will be the singular point of entry and accountability for Health specific growth opportunities within the Americas region and help vet opportunities where dentsu has a right to win, working in conjunction with practice and brand leads. The lead will bring deep category expertise, senior client credibility, a proven ability to grow revenue, and the operational discipline to develop a connected practice model that helps clients navigate changing consumer expectations, regulatory considerations, data opportunities, creative and media transformation.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and lead the growth strategy for dentsu’s Health practice, with clear revenue, pipeline, client retention, and new business goals.
- Identify and pursue new client opportunities across health, wellness, pharmaceutical, life sciences, consumer health, fitness, nutrition, retail health, and technology-enabled healthcare.
- Partner with dentsu practice and brand leaders, client leads, and growth teams to convert market opportunities into differentiated proposals, pitches, partnerships, and scopes of work.
- Develop a strong external market presence for dentsu in the health and wellness sector through thought leadership, events, client forums, industry partnerships, and executive-level relationship building.
Capability Development
- Build and scale health-specific marketing and media offerings that draw on dentsu’s strengths in media planning and buying, performance marketing, creative, social, influencer, CRM, commerce, data, analytics, technology, and customer experience.
- Translate category needs into practical service offerings, playbooks, productized solutions, and go-to-market platforms that help clients modernize brand building, acquisition, engagement, loyalty, and measurement.
- Ensure dentsu’s health work balances creativity, compliance, performance, empathy, and evidence-based decision-making.
- Collaborate with specialist leaders across dentsu brands to assemble integrated teams that can meet client needs with agility, depth, and consistency.
Client Leadership and Sector Expertise
- Serve as a senior advisor to clients, starting with Aetna, on health and wellness marketing transformation, including audience strategy, omnichannel media, brand positioning, patient and consumer engagement, HCP engagement, content strategy, measurement, and innovation.
- Help existing health clients expand into new products, audiences, channels, and commercial opportunities by applying dentsu’s capabilities to the unique challenges of the health sector.
- Bring a strong understanding of health and wellness audiences, including patients, consumers, caregivers, practitioners, providers, payers, and retail partners.
- Stay current on market trends, competitive dynamics, regulatory considerations, privacy expectations, and emerging technologies affecting health marketing and media.
Success Measures
- Growth in health and wellness revenue (starting with Aetna), pipeline and new client acquisition.
- Stability and expansion of existing client relationships in the healthcare space (Accelerator and cross practice) through integrated marketing, media, data, creative, and experience solutions.
- Development of clear, marketable health and wellness offerings and clear health & wellness partner strategies that follow dentsu’s strategy of being “designed for difference” to strengthen pitch conversion and narrative against key competitors.
- Improved collaboration within health and wellness across dentsu capabilities, resulting in stronger integrated work and more cohesive client delivery
- Recognition of dentsu as a credible, innovative, and growth partner in the health and wellness sector.
Qualifications
- 15+ years of experience leading complex regional or global client relationships.
- Proven success in driving growth, leading change, and managing integrated marketing teams.
- Strong commercial and strategic acumen, with a track record of delivering business impact.
- Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
- Well organized and self-directed individual who is a team player
- Proven track record, demonstrating discipline and commercial strength.
- Fully versed in leading change in complex organizations and implementing new operating models spanning across multiple marketing disciplines.
- A decisive individual who possesses a “big picture” perspective
- Understands how to deliver in a way that motivates and drives high performance
The annual salary range for this position is $236,900 - $316,250. Placement within the salary range is based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other factors permitted by law.
