About this Health and Safety Coordinator role at Emery Sapp & Sons
We’re seeking a Safety Coordinator to support our team by implementing and maintaining safety programs across construction sites, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. This is a night shift position.
This role will be based in Wentzville, MO for at least one year. Candidates must be within driving distance or willing to stay in a hotel Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation of safety programs at construction sites to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations
- Provide training and guidance to site personnel on safety-related matters
- Assist in conducting safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
- Assist in the investigation of accidents and incidents and develop corrective action plans
- Assist in developing and maintaining safety policies and procedures
- Monitor industry trends and changes in regulations and adapt programs and policies as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred
- Must be willing to work a night shift schedule
- OSHA-30 certification preferred
- Experience with traffic control/protection or work zones preferred
- Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) certification preferred
- 2+ years of experience in a safety role, with construction experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of safety principles, regulations, and best practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Experience developing and implementing safety programs
