About this Head of Marketing Operations & Growth role at Workana
About Workana
Workana is the largest remote work platform for talent in Latin America. Our division focuses on matching exceptional professionals with leading and innovative companies around the globe.
About the Client
Toolbox Widget is an established U.S. tool-accessory brand generating $5M–$10M in annual revenue, with a strong U.S. direct-to-consumer (DTC) footprint alongside Shopify operations across Canada, the UK, Australia, and ongoing expansion into the EU. The U.S. remains the company's primary focus and revenue driver.
We are looking for an experienced Head of Marketing Operations & Growth to lead integrated marketing strategy, manage specialized agencies and contractors, and take complete day-to-day operational ownership of the marketing function. This is a fully remote opportunity for professionals based in Latin America, collaborating closely with executive leadership in an English-speaking environment with significant U.S. time-zone overlap.
Role Overview
As the Head of Marketing Operations & Growth, you will serve as the central driver unifying strategy, campaign execution, and vendor management across all channels. Rather than executing individual channel tasks yourself, you will lead external agencies, contractors, and creators across PPC, email/SMS, SEO, CRO, social, and content marketing. You will ensure all teams work against a unified promotional calendar, deliver quality work on schedule, and protect unit economics and margins.
You will take ownership of major product launches, such as DIY 2.0 and Pro Series line expansions, and key seasonal events like Black Friday / Cyber Monday (BFCM), coordinating closely with supply chain and inventory teams to align marketing drive with stock availability. Additionally, you will establish repeatable operational workflows and deliver weekly executive reporting to ensure full visibility.
Selection Process
The process usually consists of 4 stages and takes on average 4–6 weeks to be completed, depending on eventual additional technical rounds or take-home tests.
- Initial interview with Workana's recruiting team.
- Technical interview with the client.
- Cultural fit interview with the client's manager.
- Final interview with C-level.
As Workana has multiple clients, if you pass the first round with Workana's recruiting team, you may also be considered for other relevant opportunities if the initial opportunity does not move forward.
Responsibilities
- Own and execute one integrated marketing strategy, campaign calendar, marketing briefs, and accountability framework across all agencies, contractors, and creators.
- Manage and hold accountable specialized external vendors covering paid media (PPC), email/SMS, SEO, CRO, social, and organic content.
- Direct U.S. execution as the primary driver while establishing and adapting localized growth plans for Canada, the UK, Australia, and the EU.
- Lead end-to-end affiliate and creator program management, including onboarding, brief creation, content deliverables, landing pages, tracking, and performance optimization.
- Coordinate major product launches and promotional campaigns in close alignment with operations and inventory management to match demand with fulfillment.
- Establish repeatable operational workflows, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and documentation so marketing execution runs autonomously.
- Deliver a weekly executive dashboard tracking revenue, contribution margin, ad spend, ROAS/MER, customer acquisition, retention, and market-by-market performance.
- Monitor cross-channel budgets and contribution profitability, proactively flagging and correcting underperforming channels or campaigns.
Requirements
- Proven track record in a marketing leadership or operations role for a multi-million-dollar e-commerce/DTC brand on Shopify.
- Demonstrated experience orchestrating, holding accountable, and directing multi-agency and contractor marketing setups.
- Strong hands-on background managing affiliate, influencer, and creator marketing programs.
- Solid understanding of multi-channel DTC metrics, including unit economics, contribution margins, MER, ROAS, CAC, and LTV.
- Experience planning and executing major promotional events (e.g., BFCM) and product launches in coordination with inventory/operations teams.
- Ability to work independently with high autonomy and build scalable marketing systems and processes.
- Fluent English is mandatory, as the role involves daily written and verbal collaboration with U.S. leadership and international vendors.
- Must be based in Latin America with significant daily working-hour overlap with U.S. time zones.
Bonus Points
- Direct experience with international DTC expansion and adapting U.S. marketing strategy to localized international markets (CA, UK, AU, EU).
- Familiarity with hardware, tool accessories, DIY, or automotive e-commerce categories.
Benefits
- Compensation in USD.
- Fully remote work within Latin America with flexible time schedules.
- Career growth with international clients and dynamic projects.
- This is a long-term independent contractor agreement.
