About the Role:

We’re looking for a Head of Marketing to own marketing end-to-end: how we position the company, who we sell to, what we say, and how we generate demand.

This is a function-owner role, not a channel role. You’ll define the positioning and ICP, build the messaging and narrative that Sales runs on, launch products, and turn all of it into pipeline and revenue.

The vertical is narrow, and the motions are not. We sell to optometrists and optical groups with physical locations, as well as online optical retailers. We run several go-to-market motions at once:

  • Product-led growth and self-serve sign-up

  • High-volume sales into single-location practices

  • Mid-market and enterprise

  • Partner channels

Each has its own buyer, its own economics, and its own sales cycle. Your job is to make them add up to one coherent story instead of seven disconnected campaigns, and to know which ones deserve the next dollar.

You’ll report to the CEO, sit on the leadership team, and partner with Sales every day. You’ll be hands-on: at this stage, the person who sets the strategy is the same person who writes the landing page and packs the booth.

What you'll do

  • Own the marketing strategy and results. Build the full marketing plan and own pipeline and revenue targets across our go-to-market motions.

  • Positioning. Define what Anagram is, why it matters, and why we win. Make it sharp, defensible, and consistent everywhere it shows up.

  • ICP and segmentation. Define who we sell to and who we don't across every motion from self-serve to enterprise. Push that back into targeting, offers, and where Sales spends its time: who we go outbound and target, and who we service inbound.

  • Messaging. Turn positioning into clear, compelling language that reps actually use on calls. Keep messaging tight, simple, and consistent across the funnel.

  • Product marketing. Own launches, packaging and pricing input, competitive intelligence, and win/loss. Every meaningful release should land with a story and a number attached.

  • Content. Ship content that drives deals: landing pages, case studies, product pages, webinars, email, and sales collateral.

  • Events. Conferences and association meetings are our single best source of leads today. We want to push harder here, not maintain. Own the strategy for turning events into pipeline before, during, and after the event.

  • Demand generation. Build and run demand gen across paid search and social, SEO/AEO, email and lifecycle, webinars, direct mail, and outbound support. Run experiments fast, keep what works, and kill what doesn't.

  • Conversion. Continuously improve performance across the funnel, visit → lead → SQL → closed-won — and understand where we're losing buyers and why.

  • Partner channel marketing. We have a partner channel owner, but you'll own the marketing that makes those partners productive: co-branded content, enablement, campaigns, and events.

  • Brand, PR, and communications. Own how Anagram shows up in the market and make sure the brand reinforces the positioning and narrative we're building.

  • Budget and results. Own the marketing budget and know which motions deserve the next dollar. Report weekly on pipeline, CAC, payback, and conversion by stage. Partner with RevOps on attribution and explain results without hand-waving.

  • Team. Lead a lean team that currently includes one full-time marketer, one team member dedicated to events, and a fractional bench supporting SEO/AEO, paid search/social, and demand generation. Build the team over time as the function grows.

What we're looking for

  • 7–12+ years of B2B SaaS marketing experience, with experience owning or playing a significant leadership role across a marketing function

  • Proven track record generating pipeline and revenue not just "brand" work

  • Experience defining positioning, ICP, segmentation, and messaging and turning that strategy into execution

  • Experience marketing across multiple go-to-market motions, customer segments, and buyer types

  • Strong demand generation skills across paid, lifecycle/email, content, webinars, events, and other channels and the judgment to know which channels and motions deserve investment

  • Strong product marketing experience, including launches, competitive positioning, packaging, and sales enablement

  • Experience improving conversion across the funnel and understanding where and why buyers drop off

  • Clear writer and editor. You can turn messy ideas into simple, sharp messaging.

  • Comfortable with numbers and attribution. You understand pipeline, CAC, payback, funnel conversion, and how to determine what's actually working.

  • Highly hands-on. You're comfortable moving between setting the strategy and doing the work required to execute it.

  • Bias for action: you execute quickly, run experiments, learn, and adjust without waiting to be told what to do.

  • You've worked in a high-growth startup and are comfortable with messy, changing priorities and building while you operate.

  • Strong cross-functional partner who can work closely with Sales, Product, RevOps, and the CEO.
