About BJAK

The original mission of BJAK is that we believe people deserve smarter ways to plan, save and grow their money. This is the origin of our name.

Started in 2019, we built the first mobile-first insurance platform, enabling insurance to be accessible online by millions in the region. Today, its the leading insurance platform in Southeast Asia.

Today, we are expanding ways to help people in the region — this includes spending, saving, investing, exchanging, travelling, and more. Our mission is help people get more from their money every day.

We have teams working around the world, with over 20 nationalities from our offices and remotely, who truly enjoys their work. We are looking for the most talented and driven people we can find. We are looking for people who work for their passion, not counting hours. Who loves building great next-generation products, not status quo. Who cares about redefining how everyone around us can get the best financial applications, not for an exclusive few.

If you're this person, we'd love to talk to you.

Role Overview

You will act as BJAK’s on-the-ground leader for insurance partnerships and distribution in Italy, responsible for building strategic insurer relationships, navigating local market and regulatory dynamics, and executing commercial strategies that drive measurable revenue impact.

You will also serve as BJAK's Responsabile dell'attività di distribuzione in Italy. As the registered individual accountable to IVASS for our insurance distribution, you will lead our RUI Section B registration and keep us compliant as we grow.

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory Leadership & Licensing

  • Act as legal representative and Responsabile, and lead our IVASS RUI Section B application through to approval.

  • Work with external counsel and internal compliance to put in place and maintain policies on conflicts of interest, complaints, product governance, training and record keeping.

  • Act as primary contact for IVASS and manage regulatory communications and filings.

Partnership Acquisition & Activation

  • Identify, prospect, qualify, negotiate, and close strategic insurer and ecosystem partnerships within aggressive timelines.

  • Own the full partnership lifecycle — from initial outreach and relationship building through negotiation, onboarding, integration, and go-live.

  • Drive fast-market-entry partnerships and minimise activation timelines through proactive stakeholder alignment.

Pipeline Ownership & Execution

  • Build, own, and manage a robust and visible pipeline of insurer and strategic partners in the Italian market.

  • Maintain disciplined follow-ups, accurate CRM hygiene, and clear reporting to ensure consistent deal progression and closures.

  • Operate with urgency — no stalled deals, no loose ends.

Commercial Negotiation & Deal Closure

  • Lead commercial negotiations with strong judgment on pricing and partnership economics.

  • Collaborate closely with legal, product, technology, operations, and compliance teams to finalise agreements and accelerate execution.

  • Align internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth onboarding and timely go-lives.

Revenue Delivery & Partner Performance

  • Own monthly revenue, policy, and activation targets.

  • After go-live, continue driving partner productivity, volume growth, and KPI performance.

  • Identify cross-sell, upsell, and optimisation opportunities to convert partnerships into long-term, scalable revenue streams.

Requirements

  • Currently registered in the IVASS RUI, Section B (broker) or Section A (agent), with an active status and a clean regulatory record.

  • Meet the IVASS good-repute and professional requirements for appointment as Responsabile, with CPD up to date.

  • Fluent in Italian and English, written and spoken.

  • If you need to be nudged, reminded, or handheld — this is not the role. You must be highly self-driven, proactive, and accountable. We expect initiative, not instructions.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in technology, insurance and/or fintech, with strong commercial and negotiation capability.

  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
