A Role with Impact:
The HDR Engagement Senior Support Officer is a key role within the Office of Graduate Research (OGR), providing high-level administrative, project and stakeholder support for national and international Higher Degree by Research (HDR) engagement and partnership activities.
Working closely with the Dean of Graduate Research, HDR Strategic Operations and Quality Assurance Partner, College HDR Coordinators and the HDR Engagement and Partnerships Manager, you will support initiatives including cotutelle arrangements, industry internships, scholarships and the National Industry PhD Program. You will coordinate projects, reporting, committees and events while providing advice and support to HDR students, supervisors and internal and external stakeholders.
The HDR Engagement Senior Support Officer will:
- Support HDR engagement and partnership initiatives, including cotutelles, internships, industry scholarships and the National Industry PhD Program.
- Coordinate projects, reporting, committees and events that support national and international HDR engagement and partnership activities.
- Provide advice and high-quality support to HDR students, supervisors and stakeholders on relevant policies, procedures and engagement opportunities.
- Build strong relationships and contribute to continuous improvement, working across Colleges, professional services and external industry partners to enhance HDR engagement and services
About You
You are an organised, collaborative and highly capable professional with experience providing administrative, project or coordination support, ideally within the higher education sector.
You bring strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering high-quality outcomes. You are confident interpreting policies and procedures, working with a diverse range of stakeholders and providing professional advice and support in a complex environment.
You demonstrate:
- Experience providing high-level administrative, project or coordination support, preferably within higher education, research partnerships or industry engagement.
- The ability to interpret, apply and provide advice on complex policies, procedures and guidelines, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience working with databases and complex information systems, together with strong Microsoft Office skills.
- An understanding of current issues affecting the higher education sector, particularly HDR engagement, research partnerships and industry collaboration.

- Demonstrated ability to interpret, apply and provide advice on complex policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and demonstrated ability to deliver very high standards of work relating to research partnerships and/or industry engagement.
- Proficiency in working with a complex database such as a student management information system.
- Experience and/or a demonstrated understanding of the current issues impacting on the higher education sector, particularly as pertains to HDR engagement and partnership activities.
