Manufacturing runs on fragmented data: machines, sensors and decade-old systems that don't talk to each other. Data sits in departmental silos, knowledge lives in people's heads, and AI can't unfold its potential in point solutions that don't deliver. At Manex AI, we build the missing layer. Our platform handles manufacturing data at scale, models the factory ontology and builds agentic applications that reason and act across it.

We're a fast-growing team in Munich, backed by Lightspeed and BlueYard, with engineers from top companies and leading enterprise manufacturers as customers. We ship fast, work close to the shop floor, and we don't ship things we're not proud of.

The Role

As Frontend Engineer, you'll work across our entire frontend ecosystem and own frontend systems end-to-end. You'll use AI to ship a high volume of polished work while making thoughtful architectural decisions that keep our frontend coherent and easy to extend. You'll work directly with founders, engineers and customers, and see your work used on real factory floors.

What You'll Do

• Platform: Build the interface for Kosmos, the platform that brings together enterprise data, operational context and AI

• Applications: Build interfaces for manufacturing applications that run on and are embedded into Kosmos

• Framework & DX: Ship the components, conventions, tooling and guidance that help AI agents, full-stack engineers and forward-deployed engineers build better UI faster

• Architecture: Make the calls that keep our frontend consistent, maintainable and ready to scale

You Should Apply If You

• Use AI as a serious engineering tool and can turn it into a high volume of reliable output

• Care about architecture and know when to create a reusable abstraction, and when not to

• Have strong visual judgment and notice when an interface feels confusing, inconsistent or unfinished

• Enjoy turning recurring UI problems into primitives, patterns, documentation and tooling for other builders

• Care about frontend fundamentals such as usability, accessibility, performance and maintainability

• Learn unfamiliar technologies quickly and form your own judgment about technical tradeoffs

We care more about evidence of cleverness, craft and learning speed than about years of experience, credentials or prior use of our exact stack.

Nice to Have

• TypeScript, React or Next.js

• Design systems, component libraries or Storybook

• Visual regression, accessibility and browser testing

• SDKs, developer platforms, embedded applications or microfrontends

• Complex interfaces involving data grids, graphs, editors, workflows or real-time state

• Experience designing tools or interfaces for AI-assisted development

Our current stack includes Next.js 16.3, React 19, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Radix-based components, TanStack libraries, Storybook, Vitest and Playwright. Familiarity helps, but none of these tools is a prerequisite.
