About this Freelance Post Production Producer role at Inspired Thinking Group (ITG)
Joining on an initial 3-6 month freelance basis, the Post Production Producer is responsible for coordinating the successful delivery of creative post-production projects from photography handover through to final asset delivery, including print proofing and final approval. Working closely with Shoot Producers during pre-production, the role maintains visibility of upcoming campaigns to support planning and ensure a seamless transition into post-production.
Working collaboratively with Creative Post Production Coordinators, Retouchers, Art Directors and Creative teams, the Post Production Producer oversees project timelines, creative briefs, approval milestones, stakeholder communication and print proofing, ensuring projects remain aligned to the creative brief and are delivered to the highest creative and technical standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Pre-Production Collaboration
- Attend production planning meetings with Shoot Producers to gain visibility of upcoming campaigns and priorities.
- Develop an understanding of project objectives, creative requirements and delivery milestones.
- Identify upcoming post production workload and potential scheduling considerations.
- Support a smooth transition from production into post production through effective planning and communication.
Project Management & Coordination
- Take ownership of projects as they enter post production.
- Review and interpret creative briefs, ensuring post production requirements are clearly understood.
- Monitor project timelines, milestones and delivery dates across multiple concurrent projects.
- Track progress throughout the retouch process, ensuring work remains on schedule.
- Identify and communicate risks or delays, working collaboratively with the wider team to resolve issues.
Creative Brief & Approval Management
- Ensure retouch work remains aligned with the approved creative brief.
- Coordinate review sessions with Art Directors and Creative teams.
- Collate and communicate feedback, amendments and approvals to post production teams in conjunction with the Creative PPCs.
- Manage approval milestones and amendment cycles to maintain delivery timelines.
- Ensure final creative sign-off is obtained before assets are released.
Print Proofing & Final Asset Delivery
- Coordinate the transition of approved assets into the print proofing process.
- Schedule and manage print proofing resource requirements in line with project timelines.
- Work closely with stakeholders, Creative teams and external suppliers to book and facilitate proofing sessions.
- Host print proofing meetings, ensuring all feedback is captured, communicated and actioned.
- Coordinate approval cycles through to final print sign-off.
- Ensure print-ready assets are delivered accurately, on time and to the required technical and creative standards.
Supplier & Talent Management
- Build and maintain a network of trusted freelance and external retouch partners to support business requirements.
- Source, assess and onboard new retouching talent, ensuring capability aligns with creative standards and business needs.
- Support the evaluation of supplier performance, quality and capacity.
- Work collaboratively with the Senior Creative Operations Manager to identify opportunities to strengthen the external retouch network.
- Maintain awareness of emerging retouch talent, industry trends and best practice to continually enhance the post-production function.
Requirements
Essential
- Experience coordinating creative or post production projects within a studio, agency or in-house creative environment.
- Strong understanding of photography, image retouching and creative production workflows.
- Excellent project coordination and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Experience using project management and workflow tools.
- Good working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and digital asset workflows.
Desirable
- Experience within fashion, retail or e-commerce photography.
- Knowledge of Digital Asset Management (DAM) systems.
- Experience working with external retouch partners or creative suppliers.
- Understanding of image production standards and colour management.
