Job Responsibilities :

The Fraud & Transaction Monitoring Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day monitoring, detection, investigation, escalation, and mitigation of fraudulent and suspicious activities across Fiuu/RMS payment channels, merchants, and transactions.

The role focuses on identifying abnormal transaction behaviour, emerging fraud patterns, merchant-related risks, card and payment attacks, and potential misuse of the payment platform. The Specialist will conduct timely investigations, recommend appropriate risk controls, and work closely with Fraud Management, Transaction Monitoring, Merchant Management, Underwriting, Compliance, Operations, Technology, and external payment partners.

The role is expected to maintain a strong balance between fraud prevention, customer/merchant experience, operational effectiveness, regulatory requirements, and payment scheme compliance.
  • Monitor transactions and merchant activities to identify fraud, suspicious patterns, BIN attacks, card testing, and abnormal behaviour.
  • Review and investigate fraud alerts, suspicious transactions, merchant escalations, and payment scheme notifications.
  • Analyse transaction, IP, device, card, merchant, and behavioural data to identify fraud patterns and financial exposure.
  • Monitor high-risk merchants and support EDD, merchant investigations, settlement holds, and account/channel restrictions.
  • Support fraud rule development, tuning, testing, and optimisation.
  • Investigate and respond to Visa, Mastercard, PayNet, and other payment partner fraud-related cases.
  • Escalate significant fraud incidents and support containment and root-cause analysis.
  • Prepare fraud and transaction monitoring reports, including fraud rate, detection rate, cases, exposure, trends, and control effectiveness.
  • Maintain complete investigation records and support audit, compliance, regulatory, and scheme requirements.
  • Work closely with Fraud Management, Compliance, Merchant Management, Operations, Technology, Finance, and external payment partners.

Pre-Requisites :

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Banking, IT, Computer Science, Business Administration, Data Analytics, or a related field. 
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Fraud, Risk, Operations, Banking, Payments, Compliance, or Investigation. 
  • Fresh graduates with strong analytical and investigative capabilities are encouraged to apply. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis. 
  • Knowledge of transaction monitoring, report preparation, and fraud investigation. 
  • Understanding payment operations is an advantage. 
  • Familiarity with AI tools and applications is an advantage. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • High attention to detail and investigative mindset. 
  • Strong integrity and accountability. 
  • Effective communication and teamwork. 
  • Adaptable with strong learning agility.
