Parsons is seeking an experienced, people-first Floating Assistant Manager to provide on-site leadership across multiple Vehicle Inspection Facilities. In this role, you’ll travel within your assigned coverage area during the workday and serve as the on-site manager at the station you’re assigned to, driving safety, providing excellent service, and smooth daily operations. Paid training in vehicle inspection policies, procedures, and systems is provided—no automotive background required.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Travel during the workday across facilities in your coverage area to provide leadership coverage and operational support.
  • Own daily operations: staffing, scheduling, timekeeping, throughput, quality, and customer satisfaction goals.
  • Ensure a safe, compliant, and productive work environment; model and enforce all safety policies and SOPs.
  • Handle customer escalations and inquiries professionally; follow up on calls and emails from the Customer Service team and explain inspection results in plain language.
  • Oversee accurate documentation and paperwork (e.g., emissions/safety forms, repair receipts) and submit incident/accident reports per SOP.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, performance evaluations, and—when necessary—conduct fair, well-documented corrective actions.
  • Execute program policies and state requirements, including waiver processes for qualifying vehicles.
  • Track and communicate key metrics (wait times, throughput, quality, customer feedback) and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide coverage at other facilities as needed; perform other duties as assigned.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Strong safety record and SOP compliance.
  • Consistently meeting or exceeding station throughput, quality, and customer satisfaction goals.
  • Engaged, well-coached team with clear performance feedback and development plans.
  • Accurate, on-time reporting and documentation.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to drive vehicles with a manual transmission.
  • Ability to travel between facilities within your assigned coverage area during the workday
  • Must complete Parsons’ training requirements (industry-specific training provided)
  • 2+ years of management/supervisory experience leading teams of 5 or more (industry-agnostic)
