Purpose of the role

To manage operations within a business area and maintain processes, risk management initiatives and compliance with relevant regulators. 

Accountabilities

  • Identification of trends and opportunities to improve areas and develop new process and procedures through the monitoring and analysis of operation data and performance metrices.
  • Management of operations for a business area and promote efficient processes, risk management and compliance initiatives to support the bank's operations.
  • Collaboration with internal stakeholders (including business leaders, project manager and SMEs) and external stakeholders (including vendors and service providers) to support business operations and promote alignment with the bank's objectives and SLAs.
  • Management of operational professionals and provide guidance, coaching and support to improve colleagues' delivery quality.
  • Management and development of KPIs to measure the effectiveness of operation functions, utilising data and technology to support the identification of areas that require improvement.
  • Compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies related to customer experience.
  • Creation of a safe environment for colleagues to speak up, actively and regularly encourage and solicit feedback to ensure people agenda remains focused on the right areas.
  • Management of attrition by working closely with HR in implementing retention initiatives for work force.

Join us as a Financial Crime Screening (FCS) Head of Workflow – Screening Alert Management. In this role, you will lead global Financial Crime operations, overseeing the delivery of screening and alert management activity across multiple locations. You will be responsible for driving operational performance, risk management, and control effectiveness, ensuring activity is delivered in line with regulatory requirements and organisational standards.

You will operate at pace in a high‑pressure environment, making time‑sensitive, high‑impact decisions across live incidents and complex operational scenarios. The role requires balancing competing priorities such as SLA delivery, risk exposure, and operational capacity, while maintaining a strong control environment across the full alert lifecycle.

As a senior leader, you will drive consistency, accountability, and performance across regions, working closely with stakeholders to manage incidents, resolve issues, and continuously improve operations through optimisation, analytics, and automation.

To be successful as a Financial Crime Screening (FCS) Head of Workflow – Screening Alert Management, you should have:

  • Strong senior leadership experience in Financial Crime, Screening, or Operations environments.
  • Proven experience managing global, multi‑location operations, driving performance across geographically dispersed teams.
  • Strong capability in decision‑making and problem solving, particularly in high‑pressure, time‑critical situations.
  • Deep understanding of risk, controls, and regulatory requirements, including Financial Crime policies and operational governance.
  • Experience in workflow design, optimisation, capacity planning, and forecasting.
  • Strong analytical capability, including performance metrics, MI, and operational reporting.

Some other highly valued skills and experience include:

  • Experience managing incident response and escalation scenarios, with the ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across matrix structures and senior audiences.
  • Experience driving automation, machine learning, or process efficiency initiatives in operational environments.
  • A clear understanding of screening processes and alert lifecycle management within Financial Crime operations.
