We are looking for a talented and driven individual who shares our values to join our team as Financial Controller. Reporting to the Divisional Financial Controller for our Services Division, the Financial Controller will provide leadership and oversight of Coreas Automotive Limited, Coreas & Co Limited, Coreas Pharmacy Limited and Coreas Hazzell Inc., whilst providing accounting services support to Coreas Building Supplies Limited., ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, effective financial controls and sound cost management. The role will also provide financial insights to support informed decision-making and broader business objectives.
The Financial Controller will be expected to bring strong technical expertise, sound judgement, integrity, accountability, and a commitment to continuous improvement, with the ability to translate financial information into meaningful business insights and work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Financial & Management Accounting: Oversee financial and management accounting systems, ensuring managers receive timely, accurate and relevant information to support effective decision-making.
Planning, Budgeting & Statutory Compliance: Coordinate the development of annual strategic plans, budgets and financial estimates in collaboration with General Managers, ensuring alignment with Company and Group objectives and regulatory requirements.
Audit & Compliance: Oversee internal audit activities and ensure compliance with statutory audit requirements and applicable financial regulations.
Accounts Receivable & Payable: Oversee the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions, ensuring effective controls, accurate records and timely financial information.
Fixed Asset Management: Oversee the effective safeguarding, management and utilization of the Company’s fixed assets.
Treasury Management: Manage the Company’s financial resources effectively, ensuring appropriate cash flow management and the efficient use of funds.
Team Leadership & Employee Development: Lead and develop the Finance team, ensuring appropriate staffing, capability and performance while supporting ongoing employee development and succession planning.
Job Requirements
Qualified Accountant and member of a recognized professional body.
Advanced knowledge of financial regulations and accounting principles.
Minimum 5 years of experience in financial management in a similar role, preferably in the retail sector.
Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
Proven experience leading teams.
Experience with financial software; Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) experience would be an asset.
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies
Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to motivate, develop and lead a high-performing Finance team.
Strong analytical, critical-thinking and problem-solving abilities, with sound financial judgement.
Comprehensive knowledge of tax legislation, statutory requirements and financial compliance standards.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, financial modelling and financial reporting tools.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail, with a strong focus on financial integrity and controls.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and effectively.
Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
Proficiency in accounting and financial management systems, with working knowledge of Adagio or a similar accounting platform.
