All work is performed under the supervision and sign-off of the local Finance Manager as well as for global matters with sign-off from the Head of Statutory and Regulatory Reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • German regulatory returns - preparation and on-time submission: Bundesbank AWV statistics (Z4, Z10, Z5 series); MiCA prudential returns (FinaRisikoV, CRR Own Funds, LCR/NSFR, Fixed Overhead Requirement); PSD2 returns (STZAG/GVZAG, WAZAG, ZIEV/ZEM), with full source-data audit trails.

  • German GAAP (HGB) close: prepare monthly HGB financial statements; process HGB-layer adjustments (institutional settlement, group loans, leases); reconcile to IFRS for Group reporting.

  • Reconciliation and substantiation: period-end accruals, balance-sheet reconciliations, and bank reconciliations, with clear, auditable documentation and written valuation basis for each material item.

  • Internal Control System (ICS): draft and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and the accounting manual; prepare four-eyes working papers; operate day-to-day controls and sample-testing protocols for Manager review and sign-off.

  • Asset segregation: support daily reconciliation of BEU customer and corporate assets under BaFin segregation requirements (MiCA/KWG); maintain audit evidence; contribute to the Group reconciliation-automation programme.

  • Audit and AP support: support the annual HGB statutory audit and ad-hoc BaFin/Bundesbank information requests; process local invoices and accounts payable.

  • Wider BRSR support: assist the BRSR Function and centralised Financial Control team across entities during audits, peak periods, or absence, as directed by the Manager.

Essential Qualifications

  • 2–4 years in financial accounting, financial control, or regulatory reporting within a regulated financial services environment (bank, payment institution, or crypto-asset firm).

  • Solid grounding in German GAAP (HGB): accruals, balance-sheet valuation, reconciliation and period-end close; ability to reconcile HGB to IFRS.

  • Working knowledge of German regulatory reporting (AWV/Bundesbank, BaFin prudential returns), or a demonstrable ability to acquire it rapidly.

  • Fluent German (C1+ written and spoken) and professional working English - both mandatory for regulatory submissions and Group-level reporting.

  • Understanding of internal control principles and documented control frameworks; disciplined, auditable documentation.

Desirable

  • Familiarity with MiCA, PSD2, or CRR reporting obligations; FinaRisikoV / Bundesbank reporting portals.

  • Exposure to digital assets, crypto-asset markets, or blockchain-adjacent financial processes; NPP / new-product governance experience.

  • Workday (General Ledger) and/or FloQast (financial close); part-qualified or working towards WP, StB, ACCA, or equivalent.
