Job summary

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Financial Accountant has a broad range of duties covering financial and regulatory reporting. The primary focus is supporting the Financial Controller, and the Finance team, meet its quarterly/annual reporting deadlines.


The person in this role will have the flexibility to work remotely and in the office through a hybrid working model.

 

Main duties

  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual results for local and group reporting.
  • Assist in the co-ordination of external audit queries as part of the year end.
  • Assist the Financial Controller in improving current processes and implementing system changes to support the Company as it continues to grow.
  • Assist in the preparation of Finance related material for Board & Committee presentations.
  • Involvement in Ad-hoc projects where necessary

 

 Skills and Experience

 

Relevant experience:

  • Essential:  Insurance industry experience
  • Desirable:  Solvency II and/or other regulatory reporting

 

Technical skills:

  • Essential: Overall proficient in using Microsoft Office – excellent Excel
  • Desirable: Experience in designing & implementing processes and using a general ledger

 

 Education & Experience:

  • Essential: Qualified Accountant or equivalent

 

Personal Skills:

  • Self-motivated but also working well within a team environment
  • Detail oriented
  • Analytical skills
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Flexibility and adaptability
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
