What we Need:

We are seeking a Field Application Engineer (FAE) to lead field deployment, technical support, and after-sales service for advanced battery and energy-storage systems.

The successful candidate will support customers through onsite service, phone-based technical assistance, and remote troubleshooting. Responsibilities include system installation, commissioning, maintenance, issue resolution, and performance monitoring. This role requires hands-on experience with both hardware and software and the ability to diagnose system-level issues involving batteries, battery management systems (BMS), power electronics, communication networks, and cloud- or edge-based software.

The candidate will work closely with customers, engineering teams, manufacturing partners, and business-development teams. Occasional after-hours support and domestic travel will be required based on customer and project needs.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary technical contact for customers and answer product-related questions by phone, email, and remote-support tools.
  • Lead onsite installation, commissioning, configuration, testing, maintenance, and system upgrades.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, communication, and system-integration issues involving battery packs, BMS, EMS, PCS, inverters, gateways, and edge devices.
  • Analyze system logs, operating data, fault codes, and alarms to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Work with engineering and quality teams to resolve field issues, verify solutions, and improve product reliability.
  • Develop service procedures, troubleshooting guides, technical documentation, and customer-training materials.
  • Provide occasional after-hours support and travel domestically to customer and project sites as required.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience with batteries, BMS, energy-storage systems, power electronics, EV charging systems, or renewable-energy products.
  • Experience commissioning or servicing battery packs, BMS, EMS, PCS, inverters, or cloud-connected energy systems.
  • Familiarity with battery operating parameters, fault alarms, protection functions, state of charge, and state of health.
  • Experience using diagnostic tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, CAN analyzers, and data loggers.
  • Basic experience with Python, Linux, firmware updates, network configuration, or system-log analysis.
  • Knowledge of battery safety, electrical safety, and applicable industry standards.

The salary range for this position as required under applicable pay transparency laws.
