HIRING RANGE: Base Compensation Hiring Range for 2026/2027 Academic Year: $63,770-$113,632/annually (9 months).

POSITION SUMMARY
The Paramedic Clinical/Lab Coordinator oversees the clinical, field internship, and laboratory components of the Paramedic Education Program. In collaboration with EMS education staff and faculty, this position coordinates student clinical experiences, laboratory operations, and compliance requirements to ensure program quality and adherence to institutional, accreditation, and EMS regulatory standards. The coordinator serves as the primary liaison with clinical and field agency partners and supports effective clinical documentation and student learning outcomes.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Coordinate and integrate clinical and field education experiences with classroom and laboratory instruction for paramedic students.
2. Schedule and assign students to approved clinical and field internship sites, ensuring compliance with program, state, and accreditation requirements.
3. Monitor student progress, clinical competency attainment, and successful completion of required learning experiences throughout the program.
4. Conduct clinical site visits and student rounds to observe, evaluate, and provide feedback on student performance, patient assessment, and psychomotor skills.
5. Develop and maintain partnerships with hospitals, EMS agencies, and clinical affiliates, including current affiliation agreements.
6. Serve as the primary liaison for clinical site coordinators, preceptors, and affiliated agencies.
7. Coordinate orientation, training, and ongoing support for clinical site personnel, field preceptors, and clinical instructors.
8. Monitor student compliance with clinical requirements, documentation standards, competency records, and clinical management software prior to and throughout clinical placements.
9. Oversee the collection, review, quality assurance, reporting, and retention of required clinical and field documentation to support program compliance and student progress.
10. Develop, maintain, and coordinate laboratory curriculum, lesson plans, and skills-based instruction in collaboration with EMS faculty.
11. Coordinate the scheduling, orientation, and evaluation of laboratory and skills instructors to support effective student learning.
12. Manage laboratory operations, including equipment, supplies, instructional resources, inventory control, and purchasing within approved budgets.
13. Collaborate with the EMS Education Coordinator to support curriculum implementation, clinical scheduling, instructional resources, and continuous program improvement.
14. Maintain compliance with accreditation, regulatory, and College requirements, and participate in accreditation reviews, program assessment, and quality improvement initiatives.
15. Prepare reports, maintain accurate program records.
16. Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. Associate's degree in EMS, Fire Science, Administration, Public Administration, Education, nursing, or related field.
2. At least 7 years of paramedic experience in the field.
3. Current IDPH EMT-P (Paramedic) license or current IDPH PHRN (Pre-Hospital Registered Nurse) license.
4. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of the college and community, displaying cultural competence as well as emotional intelligence.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Instructing didactic and psychomotor in a paramedic program
2. Teaching experience at a college level
3. Experience with classroom technology
4. Canvas Learning Management System
5. Platinum Planner (or equivalent clinical tracking software)
6. College information systems
7. Standard office equipment and instructional technologies
8. Currently clinical coordinator in an EMS program
9. Current IDPH lead Instructor
10. Experience coordinating clinical education, field internships, or laboratory instruction
11. Instructor credentials appropriate to the Paramedic Program
12. Current Basic Life Support CPR, Advance Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Life Support Instructor Card
13. English and Spanish verbal and written communication proficiency.
14. Demonstrated multicultural competence.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
1. Lift and move instructional equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS
1. Work is performed in classrooms, simulation laboratories, hospitals, EMS agencies, and clinical education settings.
2. Frequent travel to clinical and field sites is required.
3. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be necessary to support student learning experiences.
4. Requires standing, walking, lifting instructional equipment, and demonstrating clinical skills.
