POSITION SUMMARY
Working under the supervision of the Maintenance Work Team Leader (WTL), the Facilities Technician is responsible for utilizing a broad range of technical skills and knowledge of interior and exterior facility elements to support a variety of activities including, but not limited to, the proper maintenance, servicing and repair of facility infrastructure (ductwork, dust collectors, HVAC systems, doors, lighting and plumbing) that does not require specific skilled-trades licensing.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Perform preventative maintenance activities on facility infrastructure
Conduct the day-to-day facility maintenance repairs and act as the first point of contact for emergent facilities issues
Flocculation waste water treatment machine operation and maintenance
Monitor and operate computerized control systems and related equipment in wastewater, sewage treatment and liquid waste plants to regulate the treatment and disposal of wastes
Monitor steam boiler operation and water treatment recording
Support with the re-location of facility machinery and/or equipment
Monitor facility FX building software
Conduct fire extinguisher inspections as scheduled
Assist with vendor communication for projects and scheduled services as assigned
Operate Reach, Scissor Lifts, and Genie Booms as required
Maintain and follow the ISO standard operating procedures
Actively support with the training of junior maintenance associates as instructed by the Maintenance WTL/Manager
Follow MillerKnoll disposal procedures for proper disposal of items
Follow all shop floor controls
Perform required inspections and report non-conform parts immediately
Ensure all production and safety related issues are communicated to the Maintenance WTL/Manager and appropriate Operations WTL
Follow all MillerKnoll safety policies and procedures
Maintain a clean and safe working environment according to 5s principles and department safety guidelines
Maintain and follow the ISO standard operating procedures
Participate in and contribute to the continuous improvement process
*Additional responsibilities as requested by Management to achieve business objectives.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience
Secondary School Diploma, or equivalent
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, preferred
Previous professional experience using basic hand tools and necessary equipment to perform minor electrical, plumbing, fire protection and safety system, utility system, and general maintenance repairs
Experience operating Reach, Scissor Lift, and Genie Boom vehicles with a valid forklift license
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocol
Working knowledge of a Computerized Maintenance Management System
Knowledge of MS Office applications – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Must be proficient in English (both written and verbal)
Ability to consistently demonstrate a high attention to detail

Physical Demands
Must be able to complete work tasks that require strong manual dexterity
Must be able to stand while working for long durations of time, up to three (3) hours at a time
Must be able to safely work at heights, up to 28 feet
Physical lifting ability up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to perform duties while wearing all necessary Personal Protective Equipment as determined by MillerKnoll’s Health and Safety department
Must be able to perform in an environment with high levels of exposure to manufacturing noise, dust and heat
Ability to work in multi-shift environment including flexible hours and weekends, as required
Must have flexibility to work varied hours and overtime to meet production requirements

Must be able to train back up electricians and/or apprentices on all equipment in assigned area

Must be able to make independent judgements to determine best solution and obtain appropriate approvals before acting
