Jobs Companies Amperesand Facilities & Infrastructure Manager

About this Facilities & Infrastructure Manager role at Amperesand

Amperesand · Onsite · Reno, Nevada, United States

Company Overview

Amperesand is reinventing how the world powers its most critical systems.

We are facing a once-in-a-generation opportunity for infrastructure disruption. Electricity demand is skyrocketing, driven by AI factories, electric vehicles, and modern industrial growth. Energy supply is shifting to incorporate a more diverse mix of resources – including solar, gas, and batteries – at a massive scale.

And yet the power infrastructure behind our latest mega-projects hasn’t meaningfully changed in nearly 100 years. Supply chains for today’s infrastructure equipment can’t match the pace and sophistication of critical energy projects. Amperesand is building hardware and software that rewrites this broken power infrastructure playbook to support a new era of energy abundance.

We’ve built a new class of intelligent, software-defined power infrastructure products leveraging a decade of advanced medium voltage Solid State Transformer research that’s now ready for commercial deployment.

Our products and solutions go far beyond the capabilities of traditional electrical equipment. We make power systems that are faster to deploy, dramatically smaller and more efficient, and capable of supporting modern, dynamic energy needs for tomorrow’s most demanding energy consumers.

Scalable in-house advanced manufacturing capability is our foundation for meeting timeline and quality expectation to serve infrastructure customers around the world.

Amperesand is led by breakthrough energy hardware development veterans and funded by top tier investors who share our vision of building a category-defining energy technology company.

With hubs in San Francisco, Reno, and Singapore, our global team is laser focused on building foundational technology to solve the most pressing problems in power infrastructure at scale.

Join us in building the power foundation of the future!

About the Role :

This is a doer's role. In the morning you might be scoping utility requirements for a new production line; in the afternoon you're on the manufacturing floor with a rigger and an electrician working through equipment installation. This is not a manage vendors from a desk position, and it is not a corporate office facilities role. Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, EHS, and IT are your customers.
Your job is to understand what they're trying to accomplish, translate it into infrastructure requirements, and drive the work from "we need this capability" to "it's installed, commissioned, documented, and operational."

What You'll Own: Capital projects and equipment installation: Own infrastructure and capital projects end to end . Scope, budget, schedule, design coordination, bidding, construction, commissioning, and turnover. Projects include electrical distribution and capacity upgrades, manufacturing equipment installations (including rigging coordination and utility connections ( 480V power, process cooling, compressed air, exhaust), HVAC and mechanical systems, concrete and structural modifications, and lab and office buildouts. You'll manage GCs, specialty contractors, engineering consultants, and equipment vendors, and coordinate shutdowns and utility tie-ins in active operating environments. Site expansion and bring-up. Drive new site bring-up and expansions from programming and space planning through permitting, construction, commissioning, and move-in. First up. Facilities operations. Own day-to-day facilities across all sites. Electrical, HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, controls, and life-safety systems. Stand up preventive maintenance and CMMS/asset-management practices, manage service contracts and landlord relationships, own the facilities operating budget, and drive permanent fixes to recurring problems.

Infrastructure planning. Help assess electrical, cooling, and space capacity against projected growth, flag constraints before they become business constraints, and feed the multi-year capital plan. Growing the function. As the workload grows, help define and hire the facilities team , starting with a facilities technician , with a clear path to leading it.

What We're Looking For Required:
• 6 - 10+ years in industrial facilities, capital projects, construction management, or manufacturing/facilities engineering
• Delivered capital projects from concept through commissioning in technically complex facilities
• Strong working knowledge of electrical and mechanical building systems; able to read and markup electrical, mechanical, structural, and civil drawings
• Hands-on experience with manufacturing equipment installation, rigging plans, anchoring, utility drops, OEM commissioning coordination
 • Experience pulling permits and managing AHJ inspections for industrial work • Managed GCs, specialty contractors, engineering consultants, and vendors, including contractor EHS compliance (hot work, LOTO coordination, work-inactive-facility controls)
• Able to create structure and drive execution when requirements are ambiguous
• Comfortable communicating with everyone from trade contractors to executives Preferred:
• BS in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
• Background in semiconductor, battery, energy, data center, aerospace, or similarly infrastructure-intensive manufacturing •
Experience with process cooling, cooling towers, chillers, compressed air, and BMS/controls
• Brought a new office, lab, or manufacturing facility online •
Built preventive maintenance / CMMS programs from scratch
• Multi-site experience What Success Looks Like (First 12 Months)
• Day-to-day facilities across all sites run through you, not the Director
• Equipment installations in Reno are planned, rigged, and commissioned on schedule
• Preventive maintenance and asset management are in place, not aspirational
• The Director has clear visibility into project scope, schedule, budget, and risks without chasing you for it
• You've earned the trust to take on bigger scope as our footprint grows

Who Thrives Here You don't wait for perfect requirements. You talk to the customer, walk the space, understand the equipment, pull the right people together, and drive the plan to done. You know when to bring in specialist engineering and you stay engaged instead of handing off and stepping away. You take ownership of outcomes, not tasks. You want to grow with the buildout, not manage from above it.
