Purpose of the role
You will be our commissioning scheduler on site in Abu Dhabi, embedded with the client team on a hyperscale data centre campus. You will own the commissioning programme and make sure the site delivers to it, from day one.

This role is part of our Project Management Consultancy which focuses on:

More specifically you will be part of our Project Planning Team, who are industry leaders in delivering complex data centre projects. Your initial leader will be one of our planning directors.

Your top 5 responsibilities
-
Own the commissioning plan: Build and own the integrated commissioning schedule (L1–L5 / Energisation sequence / Equipment tagging activities / etc), linked to the construction programme, MEP installation and energisation milestones. Ensure the site is working to it effectively, and that delays are mitigated and managed commercially.

Own the outcome: You may not be the project manager ultimately responsible for the results but you are responsible for putting in your best effort to ensure the construction, commissioning and client teams understand and focus on the plan, no matter how stubborn they are! Drive the daily tagging KPIs achievement to ensure the project remains on track.

Report and inform: Be able to link the Cx programme and the Cx software (Cx Alloy, etc), and provide simple, actionable reports on commissioning progress, readiness and risks to stakeholders at all levels, from site supervisors to the client’s leadership

Make scalable solutions: Develop scalable and repeatable commissioning planning best practices and tools in collaboration with the team, so the next data centre goes even better

Develop everyone: Maximise the development of your team personally and professionally and educate our clients to improve as well
Your Capabilities
You will be joining as a senior expert, so we expect you to hit the ground running with both scheduling/planning and data centre commissioning. We will keep training you across the full breadth of project management, including commercial, leadership, communication and technology, so that you become an expert project leader equipped to transform any project you touch.
As a candidate, you should have:
-
Mastery: Proven experience planning and scheduling commissioning on data centres or similarly complex MEP-heavy projects (L1–L4, IST, energisation sequence, equipment tagging, handover), with expert Primavera P6 skills.

Hyperscale data centre experience, a solid understanding of MEP systems and familiarity with commissioning management tools, plus decent Excel skills and a strong interest in data

Communication: Proficient communicator in written and verbal English

The charisma, influence and presence to get construction people to do new things and take the best approach

Leadership: A relentless approach to dealing with people, and experience operating at Lead Consultant level or above, leading contractors, commissioning agents and clients on site

A proven leader/coach/developer of teams or teams of teams
-
Impact: A track record of making projects and organisations better beyond just doing the basics
-
A track record of implementing scalable and repeatable solutions in projects and organisations that had a significant positive impact
-
Location: Based in, or willing to relocate to, Abu Dhabi, and able to work on site 5 days a week.
