EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, TRANSLATIONAL SCIENCE & CLINICAL BIOMARKERS

Adicet Bio is seeking an Executive Director of Translational Science and Clinical Biomarkers to provide strategic leadership in advancing γδ T cell–based therapies from IND through clinical development. This individual will define and lead integrated translational and clinical biomarker strategies across the portfolio, enabling the successful translation of novel cell therapy programs from preclinical research into clinical studies.

The Executive Director will guide the design and implementation of clinical biomarker approaches to inform mechanism of action, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, patient selection, and clinical decision-making, supporting product candidates through first-in-human and subsequent clinical trials in close collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Key responsibilities:

  • Leads the translational science strategy across Adicet Bio’s portfolio, integrating clinical biomarker strategies to inform target validation, clinical efficacy, and potential diagnostic development strategy.
  • Provides executive oversight of translational biomarker programs, ensuring robust assay development, validation, and implementation to support clinical trials and decision-making.
  • Partners cross-functionally with Clinical Development, Regulatory, CMC, Bioinformatics, and Nonclincal Research to advance translational strategies from discovery through clinical development.
  • Drives biomarker and precision medicine strategies, including the development and regulatory advancement of companion diagnostics and patient-selection approaches.
  • Provides portfolio-level oversight of translational programs, ensuring alignment of timelines, budgets, and deliverables with corporate milestones and clinical development goals.
  • Represents translational sciences in governance and program leadership teams, influencing key development decisions and advancing platform capabilities.
  • Leads preparation and review of translational/clinical biomarker components for regulatory submissions (e.g., INDs, IBs, BLAs), clinical protocols, and external scientific communications including abstracts and manuscripts.
  • Establishes and manages strategic external collaborations with CROs, academic partners, and diagnostic companies to advance biomarker and translational initiatives.
  • Builds and develops a high-performing translational medicine team, providing mentorship, scientific leadership, and organizational development.

Qualifications:

  • PhD in immunology, cancer biology, molecular biology, or a related discipline with 10–15+ years of relevant experience, including significant experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Deep expertise in immunology and immuno-oncology, with a strong understanding of the tumor microenvironment, immune regulation, and mechanisms of immune dysfunction across oncology, autoimmunity, and other immune-mediated diseases.
  • Demonstrated leadership in translational medicine and biomarker strategy, with experience advancing programs from IND to early and late stages of clinical development across oncology and/or immune-mediated disease indications.
  • Experience with cellular immunology and cell-based therapeutics, including in-depth characterization of T cells, NK cells, and/or CAR-T/NK products, strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and influencing development strategy across research, translational medicine, and clinical development.
  • Experience supporting regulatory submissions (e.g., INDs, IBs) and contributing to biomarker and translational components of clinical development programs.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively engage internal stakeholders, external partners, and senior leadership.
  • Experience building and mentoring high-performing scientific teams, fostering innovation and advancing translational capabilities across the organization.
