  • Maintain accurate EHS records, permits, training documentation, inspection reports, regulatory files, and compliance tracking systems.
  • Assist with preparation for internal audits and regulatory inspections, including gathering documentation and tracking follow-up actions.
  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of EHS policies, procedures, programs, and safe work practices.

Incident Investigation & Corrective Action

  • Assist with investigations involving incidents, injuries, near misses, safety concerns, and environmental events.
  • Document findings and support identification of root causes, corrective actions, and preventive measures.
  • Track action items through completion and verify that corrective actions have been implemented effectively.
  • Review recurring issues and trends with EHS and operational leaders to help prevent recurrence.

Training & Employee Engagement

  • Coordinate EHS training for new employees and ongoing compliance-related training for the existing workforce.
  • Maintain training schedules and records and follow up on incomplete or overdue requirements.
  • Support the development and delivery of safety communications, toolbox talks, awareness campaigns, and training materials.
  • Promote employee participation in hazard reporting, near-miss reporting, safety observations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with supervisors and employees to identify hazards and reinforce safe work practices throughout the facility.

Safety Committee Coordination

  • Coordinate and help lead the organization’s Safety Committee.
  • Develop meeting agendas, organize discussion topics, capture minutes, and communicate follow-up expectations.
  • Track committee actions to closure and help ensure the committee’s work results in meaningful safety improvements.

Cross-Functional Partnership & Continuous Improvement

  • Partner with Operations, Human Resources, Facilities, Engineering, Quality, and other functions to support EHS priorities and operational needs.
  • Provide dependable day-to-day EHS support and guidance to employees and frontline leaders.
  • Use EHS data, observations, and employee feedback to identify risk trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on compliance, risk reduction, employee engagement, and environmental performance.

  • Three to five year's experience supporting environmental, health, or safety programs in a manufacturing, industrial, laboratory, or other regulated environment.
  • Working knowledge of workplace safety and environmental compliance requirements.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work with employees, frontline leaders, and cross-functional partners.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability and willingness to spend significant time in a manufacturing environment conducting inspections, engaging employees, and supporting improvement activities.

Preferred

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience supporting regulatory compliance, incident investigations, audits, inspections, or corrective-action tracking.
  • OSHA 30-hour training or another relevant safety credential.
  • Familiarity with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, or comparable environmental and safety management systems.

Expected Performance Outcomes

  • Provide responsive and dependable EHS support that enables departments to operate safely, compliantly, and efficiently.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, organized, and audit-ready EHS documentation and compliance records.
  • Complete inspections, audits, training activities, corrective actions, and compliance deliverables on schedule with minimal overdue items.
  • Increase employee participation in EHS training, hazard reporting, safety observations, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Improve visibility to EHS risks, open actions, compliance requirements, and recurring trends.
  • Help reduce repeat findings by supporting effective investigations, corrective actions, and verification of completion.
  • Build trusted working relationships with employees and leaders while reinforcing a culture of safety, accountability, and environmental stewardship.
