About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to join a major highway infrastructure project in Timor-Leste. The successful candidate will lead all environmental, occupational health, and safety aspects of the project, ensuring compliance with local regulations, international standards, donor requirements, and project contractual obligations.
Qualifications
- Masters/bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering/science or equivalent.
- -Essential Experience She/he must have 15 (fifteen) years’ experience in preparation of environmental impact assessment, environmental monitoring and in advisory role and worked as a sole expert in similar capacity on at least 2 (two) highway Road projects of similar nature.
- Have sound knowledge of environmental and social issues, initiatives and implementation of mitigation measures related to infrastructure projects and road development projects.
- Have at least 3 (three) years working experience in developing countries.
- Preferably a full-time employee of the PMC since at least 2 years.
- Fluency in written and spoken form of English is mandatory.
- Responsible for overseeing the review of the environmental study, EI, mitigation measures and general EHS ensuring adherence of conditions stipulated in the Environmental law and regulations as well as the DBF Contract and Technical Specifications. During the Construction Period, She/he will be responsible for specified services in respect of all environmental, safety and health issues related to the project in conformance with the DBF Contract, the technical specifications and the approved detailed design.
