The Engineering VCP Leader is responsible for leading engineering-driven Variable Cost Productivity (VCP) initiatives across the PCS product portfolio, with a focus on improving product cost competitiveness, design efficiency, and lifecycle value.

This role develops and drives the engineering VCP strategy and pipeline, leads cross-functional execution, and partners with Engineering, Sourcing, Manufacturing, Quality, and Product Management to convert technical opportunities into sustainable business impact while maintaining product quality, safety, and performance.

Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

• Define and drive the engineering VCP strategy, roadmap, and project pipeline, aligned with business cost and product competitiveness objectives.
• Identify and prioritize VCP opportunities through design optimization, component/platform standardization, alternative technologies, and supplier/component changes.
• Lead cross-functional teams from opportunity assessment through technical validation, implementation, and realization of business value.
• Establish strong engineering rigor around business cases, technical risk assessment, prioritization, execution, and benefit tracking.
• Partner closely with Engineering, Sourcing, Manufacturing, Quality, and Product teams to remove execution barriers and accelerate VCP delivery.
• Build a sustainable VCP culture and operating mechanism within Engineering, developing organizational capability and continuous value creation mindset.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Significant engineering experience in product development, lifecycle engineering, cost optimization, or value engineering, including demonstrated leadership of complex cross-functional programs.
• Strong understanding of product design, technical trade-offs, cost drivers, and engineering change processes.
• Proven ability to influence and lead across functions in a matrix organization, translating technical opportunities into measurable business outcomes.
• Strong communication, prioritization, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• 10+years experiences in prodcut development and engineering team leadership
• Experience in leading VCP / Value Engineering / Design-to-Value / product cost-out programs at portfolio or organizational level.
• Experience in medical devices or other regulated product environments.
• Strong business and financial acumen, with the ability to connect engineering decisions to product cost, margin, and lifecycle economics.
• Demonstrated ability to build organizational capability, influence senior stakeholders, and drive change across global teams.
